Five inspirational teenagers who are are smashing it in the pop world

What can you achieve before your 20th birthday? If the pop world is anything to go by, then the answer to that questions is; quite a lot actually.

The Radio 1 playlist is packed with teenage stars and fresh young talent. Here are five musicians who are currently killing it with their careers despite being barely above school age.

Zara Larsson

has already scored four UK Top 20 hit singles and she is still only 19 years old.

In fact, she's so confident in her own superstar status she believes she should be even more successful and famous than she is already.

"When people ask me, 'What would you do if I told you five years ago you would be here?' My answer is, 'Honestly, I thought I would be way bigger," she told Nylon magazine in January 2017.

"I thought I would be selling out arenas by now."

All in good time Zara.

Raye

will be a familiar name if you followed the 2017 tips lists as she is one of the hottest new stars of the year.

She is also only 19 years old.

Raye has already sung on hit singles for and but like Zara, she is setting her sights much higher.

"My goal is to be the biggest singer I can be," she told the ±«Óătv.

"I want to be as big as the biggest artists out there - a Katy Perry or a Taylor Swift."

Declan McKenna

is causing a bit of stir with his contemplative indie sounds.

Like Raye, he's one of the new artists picking up serious buzz in 2017, but first came to attention when he won Glastonbury's Emerging Talent competition, aged just 16.

Now 18, he's flying the flag for teenagers everywhere and encourages people not to underestimate the younger generation.

"I don’t know why I end up writing about such heavy topics," he told NME in 2016, having sung about issues such as transgender issues and religion in his music.

"A lot of people don’t understand how intelligent young people are and how much they think about these topics."

Camila Cabello

was already something of a success when she launched her solo career in late 2016, having spent several years as part of girl group .

But the 19 year old has already hit new heights with her own music, having two scored two hit singles, alongside and .

"Like any artist, I just felt like it was time to follow my own artistic vision," she told The Sun online in February 2017.

"I just followed my heart and here I am."

Louisa Johnson

won The X Factor in 2015 but it seemed her career had stalled when her debut single, Forever Young, missed the UK Top Ten.

But through hard work, determination and a couple of seriously good song choices the 19 year old proved the doubters wrong when she scored two Top 20 hits in late 2016.

She sung on single Tears and her own single, So Good.

What's more, she's been working with some of the biggest producers in pop on her debut album.

"I've been working with people who've worked with , and ," .

"I just want to make everything perfect before I give it to everyone."
