How to survive a hangover in work after a big night out

We've all made the mistake of hitting it too hard on a weeknight and paying the price the next day. But if we all stick the following simple steps, everything will be OK...

Wash the shame away

Yeah, you could snooze for another 9 minutes but you've never needed a shower more.

Wear sunglasses, as big as you can find

Hide the eyes. They always give the game away - at least, what little people can see below those struggling lids.

Bad food helps. The dirtier the better

On days like this it is never too early for something fried, battered or covered in melted cheese.

Drink lots of water

More liquid is probably the last thing you need right now, but every mouthful takes you one step closer to feeling human again.

Wear comfort clothes

You can power-dress tomorrow.

Get out for some fresh air

Don't sit festering at your desk, get outside and take some deep breaths. You got this, you can make it through to home time.

And if you get to the end of the day and you're still struggling there's always the hair of the dog
