7 big name stars behind your favourite animated movies

Will Arnett is a fearless man, which is probably why he was cast in the lead role in new animated hit, The Lego Batman Movie.

When he visited Radio 1 recently, Matt Edmonson had Will prank call a toy store in character from the film under strict instructions to start every sentence with a different letter from the alphabet. The results were magnificent.

Will is the latest big-name star from an animated movie to have found himself pushed to the limit by Radio 1. Here's some of our favourite moments with big name stars from your favourite animated movies.

Will Arnett: Lego Batman

Will Arnett is no stranger to putting his voice to work, having starred in two animated Lego movies and cult cartoon Bojack Horseman, but the former Arrested Development star faced his biggest professional challenge when he visited Matt Edmonson at Radio 1.

Will stayed in character throughout the three and half minute call in what we consider the finest performance of his career.

Ellen DeGeneres: Finding Dory

Ellen Degeneres is used to asking questions (she's one of the biggest chat show hosts IN THE WORLD) but 1Xtra's A.Dot turned the tables when Ellen was in town to promote Finding Dory.

She started her career as an actress before moving into TV but won a legion of new fans with her role in 2003 movie, Finding Nemo.

A.Dot quizzed Ellen on her lapsed veganism, what she did on her first date with Portia DeRossi and most crucially of all, sparked numerous mic-drops during one interview.

Chris Pratt: Emmet, The Lego Movie

Chris Pratt is best known for his roles in movies such as Jurassic World and Guardians Of The Galaxy but you may not realise that the A-list hunk is also the star of 2014's The Lego Movie.

When he visited Radio 1 with Jennifer Lawrence to promote their movie Passengers in 2016, he was torn to shreds by his co-star in a game of Playground Insults.

Selena Gomez: Mavis, Hotel Transylvania

is a flawless American treasure but the star was treated to some true British charm when she dropped into Cel Spellman's show.

No doubt she's accustomed to the finer things in life, but she dealt admirably with a string of (dreadful) chat-up lines when we let callers try their luck with the US superstar.

She is the voice of Mavis in the Hotel Translyvania, when she's not releasing pop classics, of course.

Bryan Cranston: Li, Kung Fu Panda

Bryan Cranston is an award winning actor with an impressive list of stage and screen credits to his name but he is probably best known for his role as Walter White in US drama series Breaking Bad.

But you may not know that the veteran actor voiced Li in Kung Fu Panda 3 (which didn't win him any awards).

When he visited Radio 1, Scott Mills and Chris Stark tested his acting talents to the fullest when they asked him to deliver a dramatic reading of Shout Out To My Ex - and deliver he did...

Anna Kendrick: Poppy, Trolls

If you're into your high school movies, then you'll know the Pitch Perfect films inside out and you'll definitely know their star Anna Kendrick.

But she also leant her voice to the 2016 animated Trolls movie alongside pop superstar . She played Poppy, the leader of the trolls.

Like Will Arnett, she was also challenged to play Alphabeticall on the Matt Edmonson show and she was pretty horrified at the prospect...

Kit Harington: Eret, How To Train Your Dragon 2

Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington got off lightly when he was pranked by Nick Grimshaw on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show. He didn't have to phone anyone and make fake requests or insult someone he really likes - he just had to face being teased by his TV co-star Maisie Williams.

You may know Kit Harington from his role as Jon Snow on Game Of Thrones but if you're a fan of DreamWorks How To Train Your Dragon 2, you may also have spotted Kit voicing the character of bad-guy Eret.
