Just when you thought you couldn’t love any more, they’ve only gone and recorded a charity single for War Child; a cover of ’s By Your Side.

Premiering as ’s Hottest Record In The World on Tuesday night, frontman Matty Healy said of the track, “When we were going to do a gig for War Child, the idea of it being for charity meant that the sentiment of the song took on a whole different meaning, and it felt kind of perfect.”

was named the most charitable celebrity of 2016 by DoSomething.org – and with good reason. Not only did she donate $82,000 of proceeds from her Formation World Tour ticket sales to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, but she also brought awareness to the Black Lives Matter movement via her Lemonade album. Through her BeyGood initiative and work with Chime For Change, Beyoncé continues to support girls and women’s rights… is there a good cause Queen Bey won’t stand up for? We. Think. Not.

Grammy winner has a long history of giving back to his home city, Chicago, and 2016 was no exception. Raising $100,000 through his Warmest Winter initiative, Chance funded the purchase of 1,000 special coats for homeless people, with each of the waterproof jackets able to be transformed into sleeping bags at night and over-the-shoulder bags for easy transportation.

Taylor Swift

is regularly called out in the press for her generous donations, most recently giving $1million to Louisiana’s disaster relief fund, following the state’s devastating floods in 2016. “We began the 1989 world tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home," she said in a statement. "The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking. I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”

You might think Kimmy’s all about building her empire, but actually, she donates a lot of dough to charity. In lieu of baby gifts when she was pregnant with daughter North, Kim asked friends and family to donate to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, while she gave the value of her wedding gifts (approx. $200,000) from her failed union to Kris Humphries to the Dream Foundation. More recently, Kim and husband gave over 1,000 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls, a charity that distributes footwear to those in need.

Lin-Manuel Miranda

The Hamilton musical creator released duet Love Make The World Go Round with last year, in support of the Orlando nightclub massacre victims, with all proceeds from the single going towards the Hispanic Federation’s Proyecto Somos Orlando initiative. Proyecto Somos Orlando was set up to provide victims and their families with competent, bilingual mental health services.

Shailene Woodley

The actress and her mum launched youth empowerment charity All It Takes back in 2010. They raised $60,000 with a special screening of Shailene’s film Divergent in 2014, all of which was put into their young leadership programmes, with a similar event held last year around the release of Allegiant.

The singer actually ended up raising over $40,000 and the charity was able to build a new three-classroom school, where children were previously taught outside with little shade or shelter.
