Branding

Description

A Bitesize guide to how branding design sends out messages about the product.

Classroom Ideas

Students could bring in examples of branding which they think are successful, explaining who they think the product is for, what concept it is trying to convey and how it does this. It might be interesting to study how the same product is targeted towards different audiences, such as the ‘child’ and ‘adult’ Harry Potter book jackets, bottled fruit juice aimed at adults and children separately, or supermarkets’ value products and premium ranges. Then students could be given a brief to design some branding for a product aimed at a particular group, and explain their decisions.
