We contacted viagogo and it said 'It was sorry to hear Mrs Jacobs’ tickets did not arrive from the seller and that it would like to extend its apologies for the inconvenience. In this instance, the delay in Mrs Jacobs reporting the missing tickets to viagogo meant she was ineligible for a refund under viagogo's standard protocol. As a global marketplace managing a high volume of ticket transactions for live events worldwide, getting fans into live events is viagogo's number one priority. On this occasion viagogo have contacted Mrs Jacobs to offer a refund'.

In response to Sion’s case it said 'viagogo is a safe, secure, and regulated marketplace that helps connect millions of genuine ticket sellers to fans looking to enjoy great live events and it is fully compliant in all markets in which the business operates. Ticket resale is legal in the UK and viagogo communicates its status as a secondary marketplace through various measures, including a banner on its UK homepage. When purchasing tickets to any live event on viagogo in the UK, buyers will be informed if the event prohibits the resale of tickets, in accordance with the Competition and Markets Authority ruling. The primary ticket sellers for the Pearl Jam concert in Berlin do not state ticket resale is prohibited. However, on this occasion, viagogo have contacted the buyer to offer a refund.'

It also added 'We support the view outlined in the report commissioned by the UK Government on secondary ticketing marketplaces that states primary market operators need to increase transparency to standardise the way information on ticket availability is made available to the public.'

It also said that' today’s ticket resale market in the UK is highly regulated and that its platform offers fans a safe and transparent place to buy and sell tickets'. It said 'it is fully compliant with UK consumer law and are regulated by the Competition and Markets Authority which is dedicated to ensuring fair competition and protecting consumer’s interests'.
