Fetlar School

We close for the holidays on Wednesday 4th July, or rather we thought that! The ±«Óãtv are coming to film a TV programe about our declining population & they want to film us in the school. But it will be on Friday.

Its good for us here though, as our school only has 3 pupils and we're set to lose one a year until 2010. So we're going to be in front of a ±«Óãtv film crew on Friday morning, sghowing what life in Fetlar & the school is like.

We've been told the programme will be broadcast on Wednesday 11th July on ±«Óãtv1.
Does Anne at IBHQ know anything about this?

Houbie, the main population centre.

Interactive TV

The ±«Óãtv has been. Yes the weather was misty & damp. Just the image we want to portray of the Garden of Shetland in Summer. If only they'd been here on Wednesday.
The pupils got to play concertina, do some work and play outside all for the cameras. The film, which is to be narrated by a young islander should go out next Wednesday at 7pm.
Crew getting ready.

The crew are now off filming different people around the isle, before having a group shot tonight.
Filming in progress.

School is now closed again!

Busy in Cyberspace

Honestly, the Fetlar School website & blog has never been this busy. It must be the power of TV. We've even had a request from Anne at island blogging to activate our hyperlinks!

As people seem to be visiting this blog for information here are a couple of Useful Links:

If you wish to get in touch with the community council direct then their email is: fetlarcc@yahoo.co.uk .

Thanks to everyone who is posting messages to the School guestbook. Please keep leaving messages - the site has never been so busy. All postings on the Guestbook should appear within 24 hours.
