The Palm Tree, But Much Bigger!

Our palm tree has grown in the last couple of days. It can reach over a small building. It has grown about a foot and a half. In length it is 1m 25 cm and in height it is 1m and 25 cm. We’ve only had it for two weeks. It’s grown so much I’m amazed by it. Our tree is starting to sprout leaves on every branch. Our palm tree has only been in water no chemicals at all.
Thank you for visiting our Blog please look at some others from Fetlar School.

For Your Information

The pupils have designed and made a variety of Tourist Information notice boards for our ferry terminal at Hamar's Ness. They help visitors find their way to places of interest around the island.

The new display was opened by the chairman of the Fetlar Community Council on May 1st. We managed to squeeze 29 people into a very small room with the promise of canapes and sparkling juice.

Everyone seemed to be very pleased, especially with the 3D map of Fetlar.

Thanks everybody for coming along.

A Football Day In The Sun

We went to Brae to play football on the astroturf pitch yesterday (Tuesday). It was a good day out. Some of the pupils even scored. We went with the uNst pupils.

Obviously we can't put pictures of this event on the web as they contain pupils from other schools so instead......

We present a rare migrant from the north, a lesser spotted Puffin Billy......

A hard day oot!

Working in the Sun

Gone are the days of paper and pencil when you are working outside. We've discovered that the wireless network works outside the building.

Lessons in the sun

It's much better as the laptop doesn't blow away!!

Its Hot

Its really hot in our polytunnel. 100 degrees farenheit. We think our root vegetables may be served thoroughly cooked.

Phew - what a scorcher!

Things are growing quickly though. Lots of rocket & char.

Most importantly our strawberry canes have been planted.

This is the last birthday that our P7 will have in the school. He chose this as his birthday pudding.

No calories here then!
