Our polytunnel has produced beetroot, tatties, celery, sweetcorn, broad beans (pictured), radish, raspberries & tomatoes.

The broad beans have many uses.

We were at the Baltasound pier waiting for the boat. We were going on the Swan. The weather was horrible some of the time. I had to dry dishes because my fingers felt numb. I could barely move my fingers and I was very, very cold. I felt a bit like a slave. But I still liked the trip. But at the end I loved it because we were very hot. Well I was!

On Thursday 20th September Fetlar Primary school went on the Swan with Baltasound P7’s. The weather was a bit iffy but still enjoyable. There was a hail shower when we were pullin’ on the sail ropes.

We were ready to pull up the sails. us sea peoples even need a warm cup of tea and a pack of biscuits. Yummy-yum- yummy!

We had so much fun. I steered the boat through rough seas.

It was a nice trip, a little bit of cold won’t hurt us.
So thanks to the crew on the Swan and all of the teachers.

On the 20th of September 2007 I went on the swan with the other boys in my school and the P7s of Baltasound.

We left on the 7:50 ferry and arrived in Unst at 8:20. Then we left their school to go on the swan. We boarded the Swan at 9:35 and then the fun began.

We set off with the engine to get us away from the pier, and then we helped to pull up the sail. When it was half way up a hail shower hit the boat and it cut my finger through my glove.


I got to steer the boat and I had to make a turn that made the boat look like it was going to topple over. After that we went to the pier where we got off. I had a really good time.

We're making cheese toasties for our MacMillan Midday Munch. This shows us inspecting them.

We opened our cafe for business at 12:30 selling toasties, pigs in clover and soup. We also included fancies that were written following wartime recipes. As we are studying World War 2 we decorated the room with chads and made a poster showing the Blitz.

We sold raffle tickets and everybody had a good yarn!!

We raised £250 for MacMillan Cancer Relief.

All the food and ingredients was donated as well by either the staff or the community.
