With the importance of the sea border, the coastal patrol team have their work cut out monitoring international waters and coastal roads. They keep an eye out for smugglers, poachers and contraband such as HP Sauce, household goods with a high sell value, and illicit white powder, since washing powder is in short supply in Northern Ireland.

New patroller Louise, fresh out of school, is enthusiastic, eager to learn and excited about her new job. Born after the Good Friday Agreement, she is what’s known as a peace baby.

Despite Kirsty’s checquered past, she is determined to take Louise under her wing and show her the ropes of being a Soft Border Patrol officer.
