Sandy

Played by Alan Irwin

Sandy works closely with rural farmers

On foot and on his bike, Sandy monitors the border 'as the crow flies' although as Sandy points out 'a crow wouldn’t fly that wonky'. But it’s not his job to judge, he just has to check it.

Sandy works closely with rural farmers and has to determine whether a bit of wood in a field is an unauthorised border crossing or just a plank.

Sandy admits it’s a confusing situation and so he has to put his feet in the shoes of the people in the border area who are confused. Sandy admits he does his best work when he’s confused.
