Bohemian Rhapsody

The film of the moment - if not the year - is the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
Ìý
The track itself was recorded just over the Herefordshire border at Rockfields studio - they still have the piano it was played on there and use it on tracks to this day.
Ìý
Rockfield Studios are now run by Lisa Ward, who was just a child while Queen were living/recording there.
Ìý
Went to have a look around with Lisa - and Paul Cobbald, who’s one of the original Rockfield engineers.
Ìý
We also hear an archive interview with Pete Watts of Herefordshire's Mott The Hoople who talks about Queen and Aerosmith having a punch-up over who was going to support his band!

Worcester's newest night

Quiet at the back!
Ìý
Pray silence for the newest music night in Worcester – demanding the audience keeps quiet apart from in the choruses!
Ìý
A brand new night is taking place in Worcester, aimed at showcasing the best acoustic musicians from around the country.
Ìý
We head to the Old Rec to find out more about their Acoustic Music Nights taking place every other Thursday.

Artist of the Week

We meet the husband and wife fronted band who've just been booked to play at ±«Óãtv Introducing Live at Tobacco Dock in London.
Ìý
The Gravity Drive have been our Artist of the Week here on ±«Óãtv Hereford & Worcester.
Ìý
Elijah and Ava Wolf, from Worcester, compose and sing original, harmony-driven alternative rock and pop tracks.
Ìý
Elsewhere on the ±«Óãtv, they’ve had support from Tom Robinson, Dermot O'Leary and sessioned for Bob Harris.

Worcester Christmas Lights

At ±«Óãtv Introducing in Hereford & Worcester, we support the very best new music from across our region.
Ìý
Since 2005,Ìýwe've broadcast more than 1,000 sessions, helping to showcase some of our area's most talented musicians to a massive audience.
Ìý
We’ve handpicked some of our favourite acts to join us to switch on Worcester’s Christmas Lights!
Ìý
Not only is this a fantastic opportunity for the musicians we’ve selected (who didn’t even know they were being considered for this incredible gig!), but also a chance for Worcester to see the amazing talent we have right here on our doorstep. As always, we also hope this will also inspire other musicians to share their music with us.
Ìý
The event, this year, moves from the Guildhall to the newly-revamped Cathedral Square under the statue of Sir Edward Elgar. The recording and switch-on takes place on Thursday, 22 November with these festive sessions being broadcast throughout December.
