Summary

  • What is a music festival? To be featured on this page, we believe it to be either an outdoor event that takes place on more than one stage or an indoor event that encompasses many venues.

  1. Worcester Music Festivalpublished at 13 - 15 September

WMF has been dubbed as Worcester's version of SXSW in Texas.

Taking place in multiple venues across the city, from pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes to historic buildings, record shops, on the streets and even in breweries, the festival is absolutely free to attend with hundreds of gigs to choose from from some of the best, new and emerging artists in the UK.

The annual festival was first staged in 2008 by Chris Bennion, who produces Worcestershire Sauce.

He'd originally set up a website called NotJustSauce - which aimed to put Worcester on the map musically.

  2. Equinox Festival, Ross-on-Wyepublished at 20-21 September

Ross-on-Wye Town Council’s free annual Equinox Festival.

Equinox Festival is a weekend-long celebration of music and performance from around the globe; the festival promises to showcase local talent across a weekend full of performances, with an array of music and performances that span cultures and genres. From dance troupes to Japanese Taiko drumming, Equinox has it all.

Previously a one day event in 2021 and 2022, the Equinox Festival was held last year thanks to a grant of ÂŁ10k received from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The festival is completely free to attend, making it accessible to all, and will have local charities and organisations attending with signposting information, plus local street food and drinks traders.

Events are taking place in four different venues, including Tree Tops Pavilion at West Midlands Safari Park.

As usual for all the last 35+ years performances, the programme features a wide range of events and subjects across a full multi-arts spectrum.

The Bewdley Festival hosts a wide array of artists across eight days and provides a great line-up for artists in the town at the tail end of the festival season.

It has previously been headlined by the likes of The Horne Section, T’Pau and Toyah Wilcox.
