How can I find the weekly playlist for ±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music?

How do you choose the artists you play?

±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music offers a unique and eclectic mix of music for music lovers with a curious spirit. Our new release playlist is updated weekly and is published on the ±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music website. Alongside our support of new music we play classic tracks across eras and genres and the station also has a strong commitment to live music, with new session tracks as well as classic sessions from the ±«Óãtv archive.

On average over 2000 different songs are featured on ±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music every month. The basis of a lot of the station output is a track database that's growing and evolving all the time. Plus there are the new releases that make it onto our playlist each week. On average, eight new tracks are added to our 33 track new release playlist every week. To get on the playlist, tracks need to be championed by one of the playlist committee and supported by the majority.

Producers and presenters also have access to the ±«Óãtv's track database and their own collections to create the individual and highly distinctive shows that platform a breadth of artists and music beyond the mainstream.

Can I listen to ±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music outside the UK?

You can listen to ±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music online anywhere in the world, but you will not be able to pick up ±«Óãtv stations broadcasting on FM and DAB very far from UK shores. They are funded by the UK licence fee and the ±«Óãtv is not permitted to re-broadcast them from other countries.

We have a playlist of new tracks that is refreshed weekly and which we play primarily in our daytime shows. The ±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music playlist covers a wide range of genres, and supports both new and established artists. Cam Pia, Editor of the Music Team at ±«Óãtv Radio 6 Music chairs the weekly playlist meeting.

Our New Music Fix programmes showcase new music on the network. New Music Fix Daily play the best of what is being made, performed and shared right now, New Music Fix Playlist is a one-stop-shop for the very best releases every week and New Album Fix is a weekly guide to the key new album releases.
