Your Story: Interviews with Michael Wilkes and Linda Wilkes

Interview with Linda Wilkes:

As part of our work in history, I interviewed my Nanna who has seen a lot of changes in the past 40 years (which have pasted quickly).

She told me she worked as a typist. She travelled to work on the bus. She got the job through the newspaper and she needed a secretarial certificate.

She worked with John Mills and Shelia Margaret. She worked eight hours a day but it was not tiring and what she liked about the job was meeting lots of people but what she did't like was walking around the factory.

I have learned lots about Britain since 1948 to 2004. My nanna enjoyed talking to me.
