Your Story: Interviews with Michael Wilkes and Linda Wilkes

Interview with Michel Wilkes:

My granda was 21 in 1968. As part of our work in history I interview my granda who has seen a lot of changes in the last 50 years which has past quickly. He told me he worked at esso as an eletrician for the navy where he served an apprenticeship.

He got there by train, plane, boat and bus. His pay was £13.54 per week. What he didn't like about the job was time away from home and what he did like about the job was travelling from place to place. He worked 40 hours a week. His workmates were John Smith and shipmates. My Granda enjoyed talking to me. I will do it again.
