Hats off to The Artist...

Chris Evans | 10:32 UK time, Monday, 13 February 2012

...for all its BAFTA success last night, but put them back on so you can re-take them off for our very own Adele.

Over in The States last night, she hauled in six Grammy's!!! Now that's big big news, really something very spesh. And equalling Beyonce's record from a few years back.

In other news. I have picked up a tummy bug from somewhere/someone. Four days and counting. It's not pretty, but I am resisting all drugs and forms of damming.

As Eric Clapton once famously sang: 'Let it flow, let it flow'. 'Cos when you gotta go - you really should. That second bit is mine.

Peace and Love...and lots of re-hydration !!!

Awwww CLP, a tummy bug is not nice. Hope it soon clears up and that it doesn't migrate to Tash and Noah. But yes, lots and lots of water, and let nature take its course.

Adele did really well at The Grammy's didn't she! Although I have to admit, she's not realyl my cup of tea. I'm a bit funny with female vocalists, in so much as there's not many I really like. The current exception is Florence + The Machine, and I've always liked Alison Moyet, Barbara Streisand and almost any show tune Diva (Sarah Brightman, Marty Webb, Elaine Paige etc).

    Diverse eh?!?!

And on that subject, I do wish R2 would quit playing Jessie J, Katy Perry and the new Aleesha Dixon song. They all sound the same .....!

Onwards and upwards, and plenty of quilted loo roll!

Hiya Chris: damming ... that's a word that will be in my brain for the rest of today! Hope your tummy bug clears up soon. xx

I am so delighted for Adele - after everything she has gone through with her surgery, this must be so fantastic for her. Her voice is so beautiful, it makes me cry.

However, Cheryl, I do like your choices of female vocalists, too! And, your wee puppy is quite adorable. xx

Debs: how exciting about the Edinburgh Meet! I'll have to calm down - there's a while to go! Good to hear the mini-meet went well.

Last, but certainly not least: Happy Birthday CSN! xx I hope you are having a lovely day, and being spoiled.

    Hope everyone is ok.

Ooh forgot to say Happy Birthday CSN hope you have a good day.

Bids we have decided after much deliberating to go back to carpets it our age you see, we have had wooden flooring in every room bar the stairs for over 15 years and we have decided we need the warmth of a carpet so it is all change.

Enjoyed my slurrp yesterday afternoon and nice golden pale ale with a biscuit and malty taste yum yum!

Deevs - I actually thought the JJ song was KP as they do sound exactly the same. I am an Adele fan I like the fact she is unassuming and gets very nervous and she doesnt have to try to hard to get a nice tone and sound out of her voice. Unfortunately I am not a fan of warblers like MC and LL. Cant be doing with all that doing your scales in the middle of a song.

Gail and family I hope that today hasnt been too distressing for you all and my thoughts are with you all.

CLP loads of bugs going round at the moment what with colds flu and tummy bugs it is a war of germs you know, keep safe everyone.

    Hello CE & Everyone.

Adele is so very talented, who can forget her singing Someone Like You at the Brit Awards. Straight from the heart. And she's also so very down to earth too.

Sorry to hear about your tummy bug Chris, you just have to go with the flow til it's gone.

Don't know what's going on here. I've just had a letter to go for an X ray as I might have been in contact with a TB patient when I was in hospital in September. I was in hospital in April/May so obviously a mistake.

    Morning All,

Well done Adele, I think she's great, just a shame that she swears so much IMHO.

CB, Totally agree with you that JJ and KP sound exactly the same! And Deev, I too love Alison Moyet.

Chris, Thanks for the info about the "tum", hope it clears up soon. Can I say that I'm a bit cheesed off with you for spoiling The Muppets this morning. I know that you didn't really give the plot away, but telling us all what the Muppets are up to now, was a bit of a spolier.

Maddy: it's a wee bit disturbing, isn't to receive a letter that's meant for someone else. Let us know what they say once you have managed to speak to someone. This shouldn't happen!

    Hi AliB!

CB: one of the delights in our new place is the carpets! We had wood flooring before, and it was very cold, and also a total pain to keep clean!

Yes, they shouldn't make mistakes like this. I'm not worried though even if they've got the September part wrong as it's only a precaution. Going to phone now.

    Christoff Lambie Pie!!

I have always thought that, at heart, you are a good man but taking Noah to the cinema for the first time to see the legendary Muppet confirms it all!!

Is it too much to hope for that handsomest of frogs, the delightful Kermit, as a guest on the show sometime? Then you can play The Rainbow Connection and give us all a joyful start to the day!

    Happy Birthday CSN x x

No problem Debs, any time xx

Ali, I was thinking I love to hear Adele as a guest sometime but think she'd be a bit of a risk for the very same reason!

Deevs and CB, I agree about JJ And KB and AD. Shame as I've always like JJ as she was a bit different

Maddy, hope you get the letter sorted

    Hello all

I wonder if you remember me, I used to come here before being buried in a pile of tax returns! I'm just about emerging from the madness of January, so hopefully will be able to join in again now.

Not sure we needed quite that much detail CLP, but have to agree with the remedy, got to let the system right itself if possible.

I know I've missed huge amounts of goings on, but from what I have been able to read, G & D I hope today had gone as well as it can do - thinking of you both.

Chris, lovely news about Adele and hope you feel better very soon. xx

Thank you all so much for your lovely birthday messages here and on FB xx

This afternoon I am holding a children's tea party, jelly, ice cream, fairy cakes, etc.
Then tonight will have a grown up meal with Mr CSN, he is cooking it. LOL!

Loved it on Friday when four year old grandson said to me."When it's your birthday nanny, you will get bigger and stronger and get grown up".

Gail, thinking of you and David today. xx

Marjie, hope you get the letter sorted out. xx

Debs, I want to see that film too. xx

Deevs, loved the photo of little puppy on FB. xx

Hope you all have a good day.

Mr CSN has kindly offered to take Holly to groomers for me, so it is back to the kitchen for me.

    Lots of love.

  • Comment number 19.

    Hello again.

I do need to have an x-ray as I might have been in contact with a TB patient during my hospital stay last May. I'm not at all worried though as the risk is minimal and it's just a precautionary measure.

So yet another journey to the hospital, I think I should camp outside LOL!

Maddy: yes, I am sure it will be fine, but they must take precautions, just in case. I take it, they simply mixed up the date of your stay in hospital.

Chris #18 - I agree, Stephen Fry was excellent last night - just love him.

CSN: sounds like you are having a VERY busy day - have a great time at the tea party!

Chris - all the lurgy bugs have been going round our office at work - I've had two colds since Christmas! So fed up of being ill!

I watched the BAFTAs but had to sleep rather than catch the Grammys (unless they are being televised tonight on normal terrestrial)

This evening however for now I am watching the live stream that is heading from church across the internet to everybody who wants to watch. Two of our young people + Mr GirltaristHan are doing a 24 hour gaming marathon to raise money for The Fountain (fountainbedford.co.uk) and you can catch the feed here if you want (twitch.tv/fountainbedford). There are crazy dares and challenges at major markers - next one is £300 and they have to do something suitably strange lol.

Right what shall I do for tea??

    CSN - Happy Birthday!!

Greetings all. Sorry to hear that Sir Christopher has a gyppy tum - I think he's 100% right about getting rid of whatever ails, though - get that stuff out of there!!! Hope he feels lots better soon, without transmuting any of it to Noah, Tasha or Bump. xx

An idea for a title for Vassos's fitness DVD/CD/Book/13-part ±«Óãtv4 series - "This'll Jog Your Memory!"... Sorry; don't know what came over me there... :-(

One thing that occurred to me during this morning's show though - why do folks get in such a state because someone "ruined" the cliffhanger of Sherlock (MentioningNoNamesVassosAgain)?! These, surely, are Conan-Doyle's original Holmes stories set in the modern day, aren't they? Therefore, we've known since 1893 that Holmes and Moriarty fought at the Reichenbach Falls - and since 1903 that Holmes survived (The Adventure of the Empty House)?! Or is this just me being overly-academical because I can't afford a TV and so I read books instead...?!

Anyhooooo - Good evening Andy and everyone. Love and best wishes to all.

Roo, I agree about the Sherlock stories - I would have thought a lot of people knew the story

And also, I think we are going to have to get to the point where anyone recording a programme is going to have to act like anyone who has recorded a sports event! It's getting daft that no one can discuss a programme in case there is anyone who hasn't watched it yet

Can you imagine if the results of a big sports event were not announced because people might have recorded it!

Surely if you chose not to watch something when it is broadcast, that's your look-out!

    Phew, rant over!

    Night all, sweet dreams!

  • Comment number 29.

*peeps from the parapet, sheepishly ...*

    Morning troops!

Before I forget - the G**gle homepage today is brill, so if you get a minute .....

I have to say that we hardly watch anything when it's broadcast now (the exception being sport!), mainly because things are on at times when as much as we'd like to be sitting down relaxing in front of the tellybox, we're invariably still doing stuff. Most nights, we don't sit down for our evening meal until 8.30 (at the earliest, best case scenario).

And then there's the nodding off factor: usually by about half ten it's time for bed (except Friday's which is our mad night!).

And then there's the adverts. Lovely to be able to fast forward them - some shows that are broadcast for 90 minutes are actually squished down to about 50 minutes once you whizz through all the ads, trails for forthcoming shows, previous episode catch ups etc.

We're on a mission at the mo to clear the digibox of as much as poss so that when we're away on our hols we don't miss anything - now that stuff gets recorded in HD it takes up twice as much % on the hard-drive thingmyjiggle.

    Anyhoooo, enuff of that.

How the Devil are you all today?

Happy Valentine's Day - whether you have a special someone in your life, or whether you're a gawjus lovely wonderful person on your own .... I love you!

Loads to do today for several people, including me! Heart-shaped cookies to be delivered to some of the local businesses and a chinese take-away tonight.

    Happy valentines day everyone.

I am not expecting anything today, hubby a few years ago bought me a bouquet of flowers on Valentines day the florist was so busy she sent them in a taxi to my work but it never turned up, course I got home that night flowerless and he was livid. The next day the florist rang me and apologised and sent me a bunch of flowers saying sorry for the flower that didnt turn up. So I still havent had any flowers for valentines day.

We have a standing joke now to buy a pressie for each other on the 15th when all the valentines stuff has been reduced.

I get lots of pressies during the year so I am not bothered.

Deevs well jell you are off on your jollies very soon and glad you are looking forward to seeing your ma, I have to wait till about May for my jollies this year although nothing booked at the moment too busy painting anything that is standing still for longer than 5 minutes in our house, the poor dog has had two coats of emulsion and his paws glossed so far.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning all,

Haven't caught up yet, will do later.

MINSTREL'S BACK - I sent a friend who lives on a farm a couple of miles away from us, a message on FB just on the off chance that she had seen him, she replied that he has been coming to their place on and off for a few years!!, and yes he was there at the moment so we headed off to collect him on Sunday morning as soon as we heard, to drive to her place from us is about 5 miles, but as the crow flies (which we have now re-named as the cat walks) it is probably only about 2 miles, so we are really pleased to have him back, no doubt he will go away again but at least we will know where he is, as she is going to text whenever he appears over there in the future.

Sunday we went to the SCD Live Tour, which was absolutely fantastic - that's our 4th year and it is always a fabulous night out.

Yesterday the funeral went really well, it was very busy, the creamtorium was full, which is a great turnout for someone of 78 years old, she was obviously a very popular lady, D did his reading, his voice broke a little half way through it but he finished it and I was really proud of him.

Back later when I have caught up.
