DO YOU HAVE A CLUSTER, LIKE WE DO ?

Chris Evans | 16:09 UK time, Friday, 1 June 2007

That's what we have at work, a cluster, it's lovely here and that's our official title. We also get to sell...

... leave. The Beeb is very like a military operated unit, holidays are always referred to as leave. And this business of selling it, I've never come across before but there it is. I cannot sell mine because mine is of a different type, and would the Beeb really like to buy it back anyway.

They give you holiday and then say you can sell it back to them. Does it go back at a premium or a discount, it's all very intriguing.

Played tennis today, sheesh what a killer that was, just getting the balls to serve each time nearly did me in, was aching so much afterwards i had to go and have a soak in the bath.

Alright now though and here and loaded and ready to go. Was asked to play at Wembley tomorrow in a celeb game but heard there's a match on tonight and if it messes the pitch up well framkly what's the point ?

Currently having a cuppa with far too much sugar in that's good for me, tastes pretty swell though i tell ya'!

Won't be blogging for a couple of weeks as i'm off for a fortnight. This leave is definitely not for sale.

Look after yourselves and God willing I'll see you in a wee while.

Leave is always too precious to sell or give up! How strange that some people would want to do so!

A friend of mine is also suffering from tennis lately. He's just started to play again this year, and it always takes him a couple of weeks to get warmed through...

...and a tea with two sugars (or more) has to be done every now and then...as well as a hot munky coffee...big cup...big sugar...mmmmmm...

    So, this leave...a honeymoon?
Just give me the nod and I'll get on the phone to Hairlair and we'll get a lovely exclusive...

Don't know if you can help, (but I hope you read this Chris. I listen whenever i am in the car and i am interested in your sport section ("the locker"). Well my 16 year old son plays a relatively unknown sport called Horseball. It originates from France and it is a bit like rugby and netball on horseback! Played as a team of 4 like polo and very fast. Lots of rugby style tackles and galloping about on horses. There is a website where details can be found as well as photos. Most weekends we travel to Nottingham for Joni to train as he has been selected to play horseball for Great Britain! We are so proud of him and there are only 8 youngsters in the country going to France in July. Our problem is that as it is for GB everyone thinks that would be funded in some way by the Goverment etc. Well not the case and we need to publicise the sport and try to raise money to send the team. Here's the sticking part. So hard to find sponsors. Several hundred letters have been written and we have managed to raise £1750. But we need more and thought maybe you could help out by talking about the sport on your sport feature. Ideally I really wish I could get someone maybe involved in football (as they have loads of money and we use a football in this sport) and they also like horses and want to help children. The team are aged up to 16 years and have been selected from the league teams throughout Britain. Joni has been playing for some three years on his pony and he works so hard at it. (especially as he is trying to do his GCSEs at the moment) If you have any ideas/suggestions/contacts that can help I would be so grateful. Love the show and thanks for reading. Is against the law in HA to be in bed before Sunday at the weekend) then yesterday we watched the gin palaces posing around the marina for a while, before hitting the beer at our friends barbecue. Played golf yesterday - first time on a 9 hole course. Very nerve wracking tee-ing off in front of the club house, with lots of people sat outside watching! Considering I've only ever been to a driving range (once) before, I don't think I did too badly. My best was 2 over par, and at least the ball went in the right direction (mostly), although I think I surprised a few drivers on the dual carriageway the other side of the trees...

I think I am either insane or I just met the missing link. There is not really anywhere else to test this theory but here so here goes. I just wanted to share this any comments welcome.

Part time I am a minicab driver (yes I am honest and I do not rip people off) Yesterday, however I picked up 5 people from the airport and having arrived at their home I unloaded suitcases to find that when the lady in charge had turned round to the child in the back and said "sit on your coat" she had meant urinate on your coat. The plan however was a little flawed as it involved a 3 year old.

By the time I had counted to 4 the hoards of Gengis Khan had ground slowly to a halt, Al Capone had unleashed his bloodlthirsty vitriol, 2 machine guns full of bullits and young golden haired wing commander nonegreen had flung the old spit out of the sun and single handedly shot down an entire squadren of Goerrings yellow nose Me 109s. Calm was returning.

Hmmm I said, " so thats urine then", pointing at the seat. and smiling pleasantly. Hopefully the woman looked up fishing a bit of cloth from her bag. This lady clearly came equipped like batman with a tool for every child centred emergency. "Shes had a little wee I'll just wip it up she ventured." When I explained that wiping was insufficient and that the removal of the seat and 10 mins at the pressure washer was required she seemed astonished. She was genuinely flabbergasted when I explained that there was a £30 cleaning charge set by the council and when she refused to pay she was utterly perplexed to find that the police were perfectly willing to arrest her under the bylaw relating to soiling the inside of taxis. Reluctantly and grumpily she paid up and accepted that it was not fair that the next customer who after all could be dressed in a full length evening gown should have to sit in her childs urine. I think between me and the desk seargeant at the local police station we managed to convince her she was out of step with the rest of us, but it was touch and go.

And that is the dilemma, Now I am sat writing this I am at home ie, outside the asylum. I realise I have no wish to occupy the same planet as people who see the place as extension of their lavatory. Spaceship needed.

I shall say this only once.

If you get bitten by mosquitos, go to Holland & Barrett (similar stores are available) and purchase a pot of Thiamin - Vitamin B1.

Take between 1-3 per day and mosquitos and most other stingy or bitey insects will avoid you. What your body doesn't get rid of in the usual manner, is excreted through the skin, and to a mosquito you smell like a plant instead of like an animal.

The smell is not disguised by perfume, so if you choose to adorn yourself with your favourite scent, all you should smell of (to humans at least) is your delicious duty free purchases. It also means that you don't have to spray that chemical cr@p in your hair either.

Thiamin. Vitamin B1. Take with food, but a slice of bread counts as food, so you don't need a big meal, literally something to help you digest the vitamin...

It may turn your pp green/yellower but this isn't anything to worry about.

This was recommended to me by a friend, and I haven't been bitten here or abroad for two years now, and I used to be Skeeter Food!

I have no idea if there are any contra-indications, so you'd better check that you can take it if you are on any other medication.

Willsmar - don't like to ask, but just exactly how did you find out about adorning yourself with Bounce? My mind is well and truly boggled!

Sammie - was using the jungle formula tropical blend - the mozzies actually got inside my blouse and made a meal of my back, although my Deet-soaked arms and legs remained bite-free (in the main).

Some wallies weren't using anything and subsequently had to see the hotel nursey - the fools!

I seem to recall being told ages ago that if you eat enough Marmite the mozzies leave you alone too, but I don't think I could eat sufficient enff amounts to have that kind of effect. Unless Marmite crisps count?

Gingembre, I too may be moving house...after one of the worst weeks (but not THE worst week, I'm sure that will come one day, but hey ho) of my life, I was given notice to move. She wants to sell the house before the 'prices start to slump'. Good luck with that. Our neighbour tried to sell for 18months, and is now renting it to students. It is possible that the prospect of sharing a communal garden with the Children of the Corn may be a tad off-putting to someone with £280,000 to spend. What a TOTALLY ridiculous amount of money, really.

However, I may be moving next Saturday. Nowt so quick as sudden. The boy is doing a good job of tempering my panic...mainly by lacing my cocoa and sending me to bed as soon as I get home...

Still, I'm glad you are settling into the new abode. Have you lived there long sir?
