Higher PE - Analyse questions
Analyse questions look at the process of doing or completing something.
They ask you to :
- deconstruct something: take it apart and identify different parts involved in the process
- you will then need to consider the implication this part causes in the process
- finish with the impact this then has in the bigger picture
Following this 3-step process will help you achieve a mark.
Question
Analyse a qualitative method used to gather information on emotional factors. (1).
It is important that I carry out the sport emotion questionnaire immediately before a high-pressure match.
The pupil has identified a part of completing a qualitative method: doing it immediately before a high-pressure match.
This means I will be able to answer questions on my emotions as I am experiencing them in a real sporting situation.
The pupil has now shown the implication the identified part has on completing the questionnaire: they will be experiencing emotions as they occur.
This will then lead to my responses being accurate and my data reliable.
Finally, the pupil has given the impact the previous implication causes: answers will be accurate and data reliable.
Question
Analyse what you may consider when carrying out a method which evaluates the effectiveness of a social performance development plan. (1).
It is important that I complete the re-test of the performance profiling wheel (A method of collecting data based completely on your own thoughts of your social performance during an event.) whilst in the same mindset as my baseline test (Identification).
This means I will be experiencing the same levels of motivation to complete the PPW and will again be fully committed to being honest in my assessment of my social factors (Implication).
This will then lead to me being able to make valid comparisons between my baseline and final re-tests to assess my progress (Impact).
Question
Analyse how physical factors can impact on any other factor of your choice. (1).
Low levels of Cardio-respiratory endurance. This is a measure of how well your heart, lungs, and muscles work together to keep your body active over an extended period of time. can lead to a loss of motivation in the last set of a long tennis match (Identification).
This means that as the performer begins to tire and their legs begin to hurt, they lose the desire to keep pushing through the pain barrier to reach shots (Implication).
This can then lead to the performer not chasing down shots into the corner and losing easy points in rallies (Impact).
