PESTLE - Environmental
The second E in PESTLE stands for environmental influences.
Environmental influences refer to our surroundings. This can include:
- the air we breathe
- the water that covers most of the Earth’s surface
- the plants and animals around us
In recent years, scientists have been examining the way people affect the environment.
Particular concerns include air pollution, deforestationThe cutting down of trees and forests to allow a different land use. and acid rain Rainfall that is so acidic it causes environmental harm.. However, society is more aware of the damage that individuals and businesses can inflict on the environment as well as looking for ways to protect it.
Real-life example
Environmental awareness has increased due to the work of campaignerSomeone who participates in an organised activity in order to bring about change in society. such as Greenpeace.
Greenpeace actively use social media in order to target as many people as they can regarding their mission to change attitudes and behaviour to protect the environment from further harm.
