Understanding critical thinking and problem solving

Being able to think critically and problem solve is very important. These are which mean they are useful in many different situations such as at school, in the workplace or in day-to-day life experiences.

Critical thinking

Critical thinking involves questioning rather than simply accepting information that you hear or read.

It enables you to identify different points of view, put together arguments, and evaluate the arguments made by others.

Problem solving

Problem solving is about using and imagination to make sense of a situation and to come up with an intelligent solution.

Problem solving can be thought of as a process.
