2010 licence fee settlement

On 21 October 2010 the ±«Óãtv agreed a new licence fee settlement. The settlement was reflected in an exchange of letters between the Chairman of the Trust and the Secretary of State. These letters can be found here:

Licence fee settlement negotiations

The licence fee settlement was negotiated over a short period of time and agreed with the Government on 21 October 2010. This happened in parallel with the Government's Comprehensive Spending Review.

Local Television Funding Contribution Arrangements

As part of the same settlement, the ±«Óãtv also agreed to help with the Government's aim of establishing a local TV network by making up to £25 million available for the successful bidder to build the network. You can read details of the arrangements here:

Broadband roll-out and use

As part of the 2010 settlement it was also agreed that £150 million of licence fee income a year would be made available for funding broadband rollout across the UK. 

On 8 August 2012 the Trust published the document setting out the agreement between the Department for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport and the ±«Óãtv Trust.
