At the end of 2013 the ±«Óătv Trust and the ±«Óătv Executive published the conclusions of their joint review of ±«Óătv governance and announced a series of changes to the working relationship between them.

As part of a package of measures aimed at making the distinction between the roles of the Trust and the Executive clearer and achieving greater separation between them, we decided that the Trust should put in place a high level framework to clarify its remit and its priorities in respect of the ±«Óătv's commercial activities.

The Trust has launched a 12 week public consultation on a draft commercial services framework and we are inviting responses from stakeholder organisations, industry bodies and other interested parties, including members of the public. Specifically we are seeking views on:

1. Whether the proposed framework represents an appropriate and proportionate approach to setting the level and nature of Trust oversight for the ±«Óătv's commercial services.

2. Whether the framework will help in establishing clarity of roles and in Trust expectations/requirements.

3. Whether the Trust's proposed principles are appropriate and sufficient to govern the commercial services.

How to respond

The consultation is open until Friday 5th September 2014.
