Justin Fletcher has the first of two dance sessions based on Eileen Browne's popular counting book Handa's Hen.
1. The hen hunt
The children will learn an African style circle dance using simple movement patterns and will then go on an imaginary hen hunt, working alone at first and then with a partner. Actions reinforce prepositions such as âbehindâ, âunderâ and âinâ and verbs such as âhuntâ, âpeerâ, âpeepâ, âsearchâ and âlookâ. On their journey they discover butterflies and mice.
