It's been a perfect Saturday for Leicester City as they returned to the top of the Championship with victory over Birmingham and defeats for fellow promotion chasers Ipswich and Leeds.

Down at the bottom of the table Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield grabbed vital wins to drag a few teams back into trouble.

In League One, Portsmouth moved a step closer to promotion and Carlisle were relegated after a 2-0 loss at Northampton.

League Two leaders Stockport beat Sutton 3-1 and three wins from their final five matches will guarantee them promotion.

Rotherham were down before the day started, and the fight to avoid joining the Millers in League One has only got more intense.

Huddersfield's dramatic late win against Millwall saw the Terriers spring out of the bottom three, where they have been replaced by Birmingham after their defeat by Leicester.

Blues are now equal on points with second-from-bottom Sheffield Wednesday, who beat QPR 2-0.

Stoke also boosted their survival hopes after battling back to draw 2-2 with promotion hopefuls West Brom.

BIG old day for Leicester City.

They make the most of away defeats for Ipswich and Leeds, at Norwich and Coventry respectively, to go back to the top of the table.

Southampton and West Brom both drew, while the teams in sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth all won.

• Wins for Walsall at Tranmere (1-3), Wimbledon at home to Salford (1-0) and Doncaster away at Morecambe (0-2) keep all those sides in the hunt for a play-off place.
• Just a third away win of the season for Swindon, who beat Barrow 2-0, while Bradford make it three games unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Gillingham.
• Notts County record a first win at Meadow Lane this year, defeating Harrogate 3-0.

When we upped everything in the second half we got the goal, but by then it was too late.

We just need to get our heads down now, plug away, and see where the last five games take us.

It ends 2-2 between Stoke City and West Bromwich Albion at the bet365 Stadium.

The Baggies had led 2-0 but a second half fightback from Stoke earns them a point.

West Brom will be frustrated to drop two points when 2-0 up. They would have been eight clear of the sides outside the top six in fifth, had they won.

While it is a good point for Stoke, their lead on the bottom three has been cut to four points due to results elsewhere.

Job's a good un for Wednesday.

They remain in the bottom three but they're just a point off safety.
