Tommy Bowe

Tommy Bowe is one of Ireland’s most recognisable rugby players both on and off the pitch.

Tommy Bowe has made an impressive 148 appearances for Ulster and has 68 International caps to his name. , Tommy won both the Ulster and Ireland Player of the Year awards in 2008. With a 4 year deal playing with the Ospreys, Tommy scored a club-record four European Cup tries in a match against Treviso. Returning to Ulster in 2011 Tommy became the leading Pro12 League try-scorer.

Raised in Monaghan, Bowe comes from an athletic and enterprising family. A former pupil of The Royal School, Armagh, Tommy played Gaelic football from U10 level for Emyvale GAA club and he also ran for the Glaslough Harriers.

Tommy is no stranger to the media spotlight. Bowe was guest chef in RTÉ's The Restaurant in 2010, and was the focus of an RTÉ documentary Tommy Bowe's Bodycheck, which examined what it takes to be a top professional rugby player.

In this new 2018 series of Getaways, Tommy joins regular Joe Lindsay, Vogue Williams and Mairead Ronan. Tommy heads to the Cote D’Azur with Vogue in episode one and later in the series, visits Ibiza and goes camping in Spain with Mairead. Tommy stays closer to home too and gets on his bike for an Ards Peninsula Cycle Tour and spends time in The Mournes.
