Ruby has the gregarious wit expected of an Edwardian music hall singer, but also possesses an entrepreneurial streak in common with her deceased half-brother .

Arriving in Folkestone to settle his affairs, her beautiful singing voice vivifies the Pleasure Gardens Theatre, in which she has inherited shares. It is here that savvy Ruby meets a particularly cagey , though the relationship they strike up is, of course, strictly business.

Ruby appears in Season 6 played by Martine McCutcheon and in Seasons 10 and 13 played by Katie Redford.
