A look at how the Vikings traded. They created the city of Dublin which became the trading centre of Europe. Viking traders bought materials like amber, glass and leather, turned them into jewellery and armour, and then sold them in different places. Pieces of jewellery were used as money but Vikings also minted coins and had scales to weigh silver. The scales were usually made out of bronze and many examples have survived.
