This is a lovely surprise Chris!

There are cameras everywhere these days Chris, Big Brother is watching us, on the roads, at the shops, in the precinct, everywhere.

Re the numbers, if there was no need for an A it would simply be 21, but if there were more than two then it must surely be B, C and so on until 22 is reached. I hope you know what I'm talking about!!!

Sorry everyone - Hallo all. Am foaming at the mouth because of the bloomin' Big Society and Voluntary Organisations who will now have to either go to the wall or do yet more fundraising, when there's no more funds available.

I just wish these millionaires would go and work in a voluntary organisation - not for a week or a month - but for a year. And try and balance the books, pay the staff, pay the volunteers their expenses, keep the building up to scratch, provide old people with activities, keep the minibus running, provide training for staff and volunteers etc........

Sorry folks, but I did this for 20 years and, honestly, I'm fed up with listening to this rubbish.

CLP - Being a truck driver for 14 years & a car driver since a was 17... DON'T get me started on the roads!!!!!!!

Ok yer 'ave CLP... let me tell yer about more modern motorway madness from what ave seen being a professional driver, failed comedian & failed racing driver:

1000% TRUE - Ave been wanting ter write about this on the blog for a while... One evening a was driving about 10pm on the northbound M6 near Coventry when a came across the new traffic control changable electronic speed signs they've put in!!!!!!
The reason why they've put them in is to improve traffic flow!!!!!
'I' dot damn it 'E' in peak times the experts think by slowing the flow of traffic to say 40mph it will stop a BIG jam up forming.... Well it's not working fromwhat ave seen on the M42 & the latest bit by junction 10 of the M6 - another waste of MILLIONS when are fuel & road tax are going up & up... to pay for this modern madness!!!!!!!!

Were was a????? Oh I yeah... the M6 10pm northbound last year... A came across one of these variable elecronic speed signs showing a speed limit... the motorway was very quiet at this time of night... and guess what the sign showed.... 20MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

YES.... 20MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TWENTY...... MILES PER..... 'OUR MAX ALLOWED SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

This is on a motorway.... an empty motorway late at night!!!!!!!!

And as some of these signs 'ave speed cameras attached to the gantry ter get yer.... A was forced ter slam on the brakes of me 44 tonne rig.... And knock off me cruise control down from 56mph to 20MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
YES.... 20MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a didn't wanter risk getting done for speeding if a got flashed by the camera!!!!!!!!!

Then after passing the sign the next one 300yards up the DAMN IT motorway read the national speed limit sign aka 70mph or 60mph for trucks.... So then a ahead to spend 500yards accelerating back ter 56mph... using a load of extra fuel.... all caused by the variable speed limit sign that is mean't ter improve my life.... improve my motorway driving experience.... and my the flow of the traffic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I drove at 20mph on a motorway i'd either get something slam up me back end... or the police would stop me for careless driving!!!!!!!!

Obviously what 'appened 'ere either it was a fault with the sign or the idiots controlling it 'ad lost control!!!!!!!!

But this is the very point i've made before on the blog... the more we complicate life... the more it becomes complicated... and ultimately we lose control of our lives!!!!!!!!!!

All a can say is a feel sorry for our children as it's gonna get worse!!!!!!!

A mean could yer imagine in the future if those variable spped limits spread up the length of the whole motorway... the whole journey will be spent watching them in case they change... And slowing, then speeding up... then slowing!!!!!!!!!

To add... I myself many a time 'ave driven on the M25 near 'eathrow... another area where those variable speed limits are placed & where CLP drives alot.... and many a time there ave experienced a stupid 40mph sign when it's not peak time & the road isn't too busy... But everyone slows down for no reason.... A mean think of the fuel all those thousands of vehicles are using slowing then accelerating (a 'eavy truck does 3 mile per gallon when accelerating from 40mph to 56mph and it can take 'alf a mile to get back up to speed)... All when where mean't ter be green & saving the earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PPPS A could add more about traffic lights at the end of motorway slip roads that go green for one second... yes a did say one second!!!!!!!

And the white keep yer distance chevrons painted on the motorway that actually cause a phantom traffic jam to 20 miles long form!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My goodness ave gone mad over the motorway, after CLP' as, & a get blog #22... This could be a sign from the other side about the signs that are put up by people who seem ter be from any side but on ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yer sent me over the edge talking about speed cameras on the motorway.... CLP yerv ruined me Valentine's Dee.... ave totally lost me mind all!!!!!!!!!!!
