Has taken me an age to catch up on yesterday's blog - but it's worth it, as always :)
By the time I got round to posting - this one had appeared.


CLP - Fortan - he of Uruguy - must also have been practising with that new extra round ball. Awesome display.

Wrong tense CLP - this world cup 'should be' the most exciting competition, but I have to agree with the commentators who are saying it is the most boring..... only 28 goals scored in 17 matches.......

AS from previous blog - should I get security to barricade the doors against crazed ladies wanting gold choclit???

Joran - my eyelashes disappeared a while ago and I'm a wee bit younger than you. I used to have a healthy set of eyelashes then one day i thought I looked a bit different - it took a while to realise my eyelashes were disappearing - not as long and thick as they had been. Not sure if they're grey tho', it's difficult to tell as the lighting at my dressing table isn't great (or is it just my eyesight isn't fully 20/20 these days?).

Now..football! I am of the female persuasion and enjoy a good game..but was made to sit through the Uruguay match last night.. apart from ogling/sorry, admiring the skill of Mr Forlan i thought it a tad boring..as have been most of the matches ive seen so far. Gave up and started readin g at half time!

Tonight, i hold out more hope for France/Mexico and of course the big game tomorrow... although i have Algeria in a sweepstake so have torn loyalties!

As for the ball, its round, its hard and it bounces.. just get on with it yer jessies!

MTD / Scoobs, I think it is worrying that MC isn't eating choclit at the mo - she's substituted choclit with liquorice allsorts which has a more devastating effect on one's system than choclit, imho.

Btw, been puzzling over this one for a day or two, does the 'h' in imho stand for humble or honest. Just so's you know my opinion is (nearly) always humble.

I got a cold at the last bank holiday, and since then i have almost been cured of my choklit cravings.
I now have a bit of a liquorice craving, not the allsorts , but those little sticks that are a bit hard and are so conveniently sold in the shop next door but one to where i live .

I love liquorice - it's my Mum's fave and from being a wee girl I've always enjoyed a bag of Bertie's best (due to after effects, always in moderation).

From memeory there's a lovely shop near where the Portsmouth meet was that sell all sorts of trad liquorice, sticks, bootlaces etc. I always ending spending far too much on the rare time I get down there.

Andy..i live not 15 minutes from the H*ribo factory..and therefore factory shop! You must know where that is ...get yourself down one day..lots of horrible black stuff in all forms..esp the `cakes` !

And the smell when they are manufacturing...pure sugar! Smells amazing!

I agree Chris, we just need to stop moaning and finding excuses and play better!

Tea and Chat down at the church this morning and Phylis is 94 today so we had a cake, sang Happy Birthday about three times and generally made a fuss of her - bless her. She's 94 You Know!!

Liquorice - love it and it doesn't have any affect on me either, peanut butter on the other hand ...hee hee TMI??

And can I just say that you really are a great bunch of people. I read every day, but don't comment as much as some, but you are so lovely and supportive of each other. I don't want anything bad to happen to me, but I know that if it does I can count on you lot for hugs, love, good wishes and a W***a G**d :)

Hi all,

just wanted to pop into blog and wanted to give some advice to Emma on her first 10k.

at the start dont get taken along by the crowd as in the past I have tried to keep up and done really quick 5k time and suffered the last 5k, go at your own pace and set yourself a time for each k or mile you do and try to keep to it. I did a 10k run through the Liverpool tunnel last month and kept to a 9 minute mile. good luck and let us know how you got on.
At the Liverpool half marathon this year they had pacers who ran around the course with boards with 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 minute mile times which helped me and a lot of other greatly.

Phew! Envelope stuffing now complete - horrah! Thanks againf or your help yesterday Gailyb. Now catching up with other interesting stuff like invoices (need the money in) and trying to collate pr info. Hey ho, the joys of work. BUT have to say, now that I'm trying to catch up with your luvly folks, there's a bit of cba going on.

Big shop for me too after work - apparently there's a footie match tomorrow night, which is when we usually go to sainsbugs (other supermarches available). I say footie match, that's if the players are able to hit the 'b' thing and score with it of course.

Talking of which, fixtures lists are out today (apologies to anyone not interested). And, as predicted, one of the best matches is the same weekend when himself is whisking me away for a belated birthday weekend. Last time that happened his team won and I'm not sure I've been forgiven for that cos it doesn't happen that often.

I'm currently in Salford Quays - small world! Although we will be moving (office-wise) to Altrincham by early August, if not before! I live near Wigan, so am not looking forward to the extra 18 miles a day travelling!

MC - the chairs are very comfy, haven't attempted building the table yet!

Thanks scoobs for the good luck wishes, and thanks nick for the running advice, I find when I first start running I feel really panicky and then I'm fine once my breathing settles down, I've still got just under 4 months to go so hopefully I should be fine by then.

Loving all this talk of Magnums but I'm off all the unhealthy stuff right now so will just have to dream about chocolate and ice cream!

In any case, in all the games I have seen at least, both sides have used the same ball!

Considering the money these boys get paid they should be able to cope with anything from a beachball (Liverpool players excepted, of course) to a pig's bladder.

There has been an awful lot of moaning about the ball during the World Cup, and the Vuvuzelas, now I'm no expert, but this World Cup seems to have been a bit lacklustre compared to previous ones? Or is it that the teams are all just getting the measure of each other?

JG, I grew up in Sale, then moved to Altrincham , then Lymm, then to where we are now. It would be 12 miles to Alty from mine. If you need any route help give me a shout , i know all the quick cuts . I hardly know anyone round here as i am out at work all day. I was out in Hale two weeks ago with two school buddies , who are also 38 .
