Wakey wakey, Westfield and Sir Wogan of The Terry

Chris Evans | 11:02 UK time, Friday, 30 October 2009

Westfield this morning whilst Tash and sis number one shop for "power clothes" XXX.

Liv has just bagged her first big job with GSK so now needs the attire to rule.

Never been before, my my what an enormous space, actually much more impressive than I imagined and it was empty - perfect, people can sometimes spoil a place.

Been ordered on parade at midday to shoot the Terry and Aled video for this year, apparently they're making me dress up. Seein' as it's for the kids - alright then.

Loose Ends on Radio 4 tomorrow, heard they go out for a jar or two afterwards - could be interesting.

Crackpot's last day today, we love him.

Have a fab weekend y'all.

    Morning.....

Don't mention shopping, that's where I should be right now......(food not clothes, although I hate doing both!)

We've got the first guests coming this weekend, my folks are coming down when they fly back in from holiday for the boy's Birthday on Monday. Which means I'll have to find somewhere else for the remaining three boxes of 'stuff' that is still homeless or we would all be albe to sit round the table!!!!

Right I'm off before my motivation completely deserts me.........

    Too late, there it goes!!!!

Ooooh - is everyone wearing something pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Day?

Right, been and got me presciption and imbibed the first dose. Will be drug-free and bettererer by Loverpool, for sure.

And whilst I'm here, can I ask .... please can I be 6 again? The supermarcardo where I got aforementioned 'scription was full to bursting of ickle dahlinks getting Hallowe'en stuff (half term innit!) and there were several ickle girl dressed as fairies. I thought how fantabulous it would be to be able to go to Wickerman's shop dressed as a fairy! All pink and sparkly and fairyish. Wonderful!! I'd glide round the aisles giving it some bipperty-boppety-boo in my pink fluffy halo and pink fairy tutu ...... oh yeh baby!

I couldn't resist temptation .... so now fully loaded with 2 giant pumpkins, loadsa sweeties for the trickley treaters and some red sparkly glitter devil horns.

My 7 year old son asked if I would take him trick or treating this Saturday when he is round at my house. No, I said. Why not he said. Because it's an American thing and it means nothing to me so nor should it to you. It's demanding money/treats with menaces and I don't agree with it, I said. Oh, he said. His mother is picking him up on Saturday night for 2 hours of trick or treating - probably dressed as a witch - shouldn't take much effort in her case! Bah humbug or whatever the equivalent is at Halloween.

    Grumpy Nic

  • Comment number 18.

LOL Grumpy Nic ..... you're not masquerading as the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are you perchance?!?!

I don't mind the little ones that come to the door with a parent in tow, but it's the 15 year olds who bang on the door at 10 pm and demand in a very gruff tone Trick or Treat and then proceed to terrorise you into signing the house over.

    Nice area I live in!!

    Well now.

Have just popped out to the bank, pay the papers, etc. And was sat at traffic lights behind a Fiat with 2 dangly things in the back window. One, SMALL DUDE ON BOARD. Two, PRINCESS ON BOARD. Growled and dribbled a bit, but no problem. However. Lights change, off we go, suddenly said driver pulled straight out to turn right, no indication, nothing. And nearly got smacked from the rear by another car in the process.

Now, do forgive me, but if she'd been hit, that would've technically been the other driver's fault. Except I'd have bin' a witness. So I'd like to say this to all drivers with dangly things obscurin' your rear view. I DON'T GIVE A MONKEYS THAT YOU HAVE A PRINCESS ON BOARD. I DO care, however, that you jeopardise their safety because you can't bloody see outa your back window.

    GRRRRRR.

PS. Tins. Hahahahahaha indeed, It's For The Kids. Pfffffff snort Bless 'im.

Actually Christoff, it's as well yous are keepin' your hand in. Once yous stop messin' about like you're doin' with ideas above your station, yous might be glad to go back to the Gorillagram. Like El Tel leavin' Limerick at just the wrong time; 'e could've gone far in the bank.

    Afternoon .

Not long left till we are released for the weekend.

Nick LOL re ex !!!! cant be doing with the kids calling. We turn the lights out so hopefully they dont knock. Gets a tad boring bumping into the furniture after an hour or two. One year i answered the door, and had nothing in to give , except some ice lollies embedded in the freezer. Kids were chuffed to bits !!

    Deev, get better soooooon.

Hi CLP, Tash, Noah and All

Deev - hope you feel betterer soon. Maybe you should dress up as this sparkly fairy and you may get some magic fairy dust sprinkled upon you from above and then you will feel all better. I used to have a glitter box and when my daughter fell over and hurt her knee or something I used to sprinkle the glitter over and say it was magic fairy dust that my Gran had received from a fairy long ago and it always worked, is that a placebo?!

Nic - I think the term is bah pumpkin, but really think you should chill out a bit, and maybe go dook for some apples (is this a Scottish term?)....relax, and poor son of Nic :(!!! Me thinks ex Mrs Nic has had lucky escape!!! Provacative? Me? yes!!!

Chris and team - I have an idea for the last week of Drivetime, how about doing the top tenuous for Jonny, Foxy, Sal and of course Chris, Monday to Thursday???

    And ARF - Texas - I don't want a lover. thank you!

And don't talk to ME about the Trick Or Treats, Nic and Deev.

I've given up on battin' 'em off whilst Renee sits ragin' in 'er chair. Instead I had the marvellous idea of keepin' a box a sweets near the door and the full witch's outfit; you know, if yous can't beat 'em.. So there I was, false big wrinkly nose, trick warts, moles with hair stickin' out and the hat with the straggly hair. Revoltin'. Unfortunately at the first knock I leapt up, grabbed me hat and flung open the door.. to be greeted by my niece, who looked at me in delight and said, "Hiya!! Oh, sorry, have I caught you on your way out?"

    Bloody cheek.

Oh Grotbags - maybe this year you should sit Renee just inside the front door and every time 'they' come around for Trick or Treat she can blast them with one of those huge water guns and in the background you can be giving an extra witchy type type chortle.

I was shopping last night and heard one person describe tomorrow night as Pumpkin Night - good grief!
Son of Nic is not poor; in fact he probably has more money than his father...lol...if you knew her, you wouldn't say she'd had a lucky escape. I will be taking him to fireworks and bonfire anyway - much more civilised and British - about burning Catholics isn't it?!

ARF - Ghostbusters (Ray Parker Jr.?)

  • Comment number 40.

I agree about Halloween - Bah Pumpkin indeed. Fortunately I live in an apartment block so won't be bothered by the little darlings.

I happened to be staying with my friend in the States one Halloween and they do it so much better than us. All the families and kids go out about 5 o'clock dressed up with their little pumpkin baskets ready for the treats. No tricks are ever played (well at least not in her neighbourhood). They then go back to their house and if the porch light is on then you can knock if it isn't then they know to move to the next house - simple.

I was given the task of handing out the treats, I think they were more excited about my English accent than the sweets..LOL.

Well based on a conversation I had with my son last night, he does indeed have, or at least, intend to have, more money than me as he asked me what I would like him to buy me when he is grown up. I replied an Aston Martin please and he said, ok dad I will buy you that. Bless him!
Let's just say that my ex and I are both quite happy with the current arrangement, as is son and heir as he gets the best of both worlds.

I love the thought that Hallowe'en and Bonfire Night and then you-no -sorry-know-what are just around the corner; the thing is it just doesn't darn-well feel COLD enough.

Have had a mixed week, stayed with boleynmother for first half, dealt with boleynteen2, who is currently in a "hellish zone" for the latter. Am feeling bowed with duty and hankering for some fun.

Anyhoo, off (finally!) to the wisecracking rip-off merchant, sorry wedding photographer, to give him our final order for the album. It's only taken us three months!

I shall be dressing up myself tomorrow as the Rocky Horror Show is going to be breaking the world record for people doing the Time Warp. Not in aid of anyone I don't think, but we all get a sistifikert if we manage it!

Alib, are you sure we're not the same person? I too feel like that about Hallowe'en. Trick or treat is actually ILLEGAL. REALLY HONESTLY. Check if you don't believe me. Bloody american nonsense. With a small 'a'.

    So.

This is it. No, sorry, I'm not leaving, seems this is the title of a film featuring the late MJ, about the tour called, erm, This is it, which, erm, was it. Or wasn't. As it happened. Or rather, didn't.

Oh, you know what I mean.

$20m at the box office on day 1.

They say death sells. Look at the stats. OK, these are rather old stats, but you get the picture.

2006. $50m Kurt Cobain, thank you very much.

    2006. $42m Elvis. Faaaannnnnguveryymusscch, goodnight.

2006. $35m Charles Schulz. Peanuts compared with those two.

2006. $24m John Lennon. Imagine earning that much?

Anyway. So Jackson is trousering a few quid. Funny that, wasn't he broke when he 'died'?

A few million quid winging their way to a newly built compound in the back garden of some Arab squillionaire by any chance?

Today has been another one with excess driving in comparison to work actually achieved, but hey ho, it is now the weekend. As I said before, not alot going on for the next two days other than more damn running - my feet, hips, back and sanity can't take anymore, but the small matter of 26 miles in April won't go away - some more relaxing cooking - I feel a curry coming on - and a wee bit of actual relaxation.

Don't forget, Green Day on Wossy later.

    Peace + much love
