three TWO fOuR. YES YES IT'S ANOTHER BLOG.

Chris Evans | 15:26 UK time, Thursday, 10 July 2008

I was BINGOED.....

...."er, yes Chris there's a bloke downstairs, says his name's Bingo Star."

Well that's all fine and dandy but it's a quarter to five and we're on the air in a bit and 'ee doesn't 'ave an appointment and yes I know 'ee's from the blog, that is to say 'ee is indeed an illustrious bloggee, but that don't make no difference. 'Ee can 'ang around till after the show, of course 'ee can do what the blasted 'eck 'ee likes innit but 'ee can't come up and I 'aven't got time to be going down an' all that you see.

And so it came to pass that Little Bingo Star did wait and see and meet and press the flesh of all his Drivetime pals and got their 'graphs an' everythin'. Hurrah for B.S.

Now on to today, no Bingo and back to business, I ain't no Jenny from the block oh no. Yeehaa.

Drivetime, golf, dine, disco, dance, Goodwood, all with added Proclaimers preparations finally coming to fruition. Spent the morning at Foxbridge Golf Club, the little nine hole belter, set in the deep emerald green of the luscious home counties, the regular venue of our annual Drivetime stapleford challenge. The bunting is up, the course is in great nick and the guys there could not be more excited. Foxbridge, just around the corner from my pub, the maginficent Mulberry, the location of the Sat evening festivities and the venue for the marvellous Proclaimers exclusive singy songy gig thingy. It's gonna be great.

All our gang are coming and camping next to Tash and I in the field next to the "house that will never be finished." Tents already up!

The Coburn car has been prepared today for Sunday's race up Lord March's hill, all gleaming and ready to go. I've polished the wife, given Enzo a big hug, and warned Noel the vet that he's going to have yet another night out in the real world. Yes, his second in as many weeks, he'll be getting a life next.

ALL REQUEST TOMORROW DUDES. No more ambushing the DJ at work Bingo, you naughty naughty boy but congrats on the nups you nutter.

CLP.

Looks like the Coburn Spyder has opened up a new life for you Chris, ok, well some interesting invites like the Festival of Speed etc. I can still imaging a photo of it advertising that gorgeous dark stuff, Guiness. Shot in a moody manner like some of the Breitling adverts. Will seems to have done well for himself since leaving Ginger. Not sure why I brought that up except I was looking at his company website earlier.

I`m into sparkling water right now, it maybe wet outside but inside I`m staying dry, at least for now.

Bingo I`ve always thought you where a nutter - in a nice way - good for you.

Are we mad to allow the MoD to pay 2.83 million for breaching some Iraq persons human rights, whatever else this involved, also to fund the substantial housing and lifestyle of a convicted terrorist muslim cleric and not deport him as it infringes his human rights.

The legal system lawyers make a fortune out of these cases and have their own self interest at stake paid for by the public purse.

What about putting the public safety and public´s human rights FIRST and treating these people as they would be treated in THEIR OWN countries for similar actions. After all they are not citizens of the UK and should not expect to be provided with our Justice system. Would China or Russia or even their own countries treat them so well?

    Methinks not. ..........

Hi all, I'm a first time blogger - or should that be blagger... trying to blag the 1st track on all request Friday.
You see, last saturday I had a mild heart attack - nothing to be worried about now as I have all the pills and potions to get me through.

However it's where and when it happened that could have made the news! I was driving a coach with 31 passengers down the M1 at the time and fortunately was able to get onto the hard shoulder between junctions 10 and 9 in the roadworks...

Now out of hospital and at home, I'm just so thankful to be here with my fantastic wife Debbie, and would love to here "don't want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith which is basically my new outlook on life having has this experience.

    Love the show, Love life.

This has been such a long, long week. Hoooray for the weekend!

Even if I have got a pile of invoices to shift today. Booooo.

Feeling a tad rebellious today so have come to work in my black Libertines t-shirt. Not sure what my ageing Mail-reading boss will make of associations with Mr Doherty in her company. Hold on tight .....

Think I'm still getting over blog 322 - I keep chuckling to myself as random hair thoughts pop into my head. Oh dear!

As for last night's WM question ... as lovely as Chesney Hawkes was (? ?) the one song that will get me on the (dance) floor without any prompting has to be She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult. Cheek bones in, arms up, and pose dance pose dance ... you know the one!

    Yo Yo Yo
I have been missing for ages, and is not because I'm day-ist, is just I've been really really busy - working late in the evenings.... and hey - generally working which is an unusual turn of events for me at work!

What I have been missing. And Guess What. Going to miss some more too.

Off on Holiday tomorrow AM so today is all about packing and convincing my daughter that 2 suitcases of clothes are not necessary for an uninhabited island off the coast with NO ELEctricity, Cars or ... anything. Hmm Impossible Task Me Thinks.

Had a very sad day at work yesterday and drove home howling my face off, which is not great in the grand scheme of things, however Am feeling happier in myself today and all fired up for HOLIDAY. I love this place.

If any of you are interested in my wee island the DOGWITHNOBRAIN is sitting on Blogspot with photos at the ready.

TOWN CALLED MALICE - Sounding Good.

Hey - Does Bingo Star's visit mean we can all start dropping in unannounced????

Not Saying that I'll be In London any time soon but I am visit MONKEY World in Dorset in November... is that anywhere near london?

It's Friday indeedy! And for the first time in I can't remember how long I actually slept really well last night. Admittedly I was falling asleep all day too but managed not to (not good to fall asleep in front of customers whilst attempting to count out change) but oh the joy of falling asleep instead of counting sheep somersaulting backwards over fences.

And now I'm awake and not entirely sure what to do with myself. Not that there's nothing to do, just not got any idea where to start...

Goodwood tomorrow - how excited am I!!!!! I will be on the hunt for CLP et al and the Coburn if it's there tomorrow and not just Sunday, and maybe I'll try and persuade the gang to pop into the M for a treat in the evening :)

Just got to find something to wear now!

Every year people spend muych of the day sat on the surrounding roads trying to get into the parking...hopefully they will have sorted it out but you never know.

Nowt wrong with a bit of poker enat. I once won a tournament akshully in a place called Ikareg. It's quite a big market town just on the Romanian border and is relatively famous (in Eastern parts) for breeding the Ikareg Sprinke(sp?), which is a pig similar to the Vietnamese Pot Bellied. And to the best of my knowledge there weren't any helicopter pilots either in or on the game...

Anyhoo, we is too high for sp1ders in my ossif, but at home is turtley different matter. There are dozens of the blighters...all small...all BAD...and even the conkers aren't keeping 'em away.

But, it is Friday! Orf to the Isle of Widget tomorrow donchaknow...am hoping that the sea is reasonably flat...at least on the way home...

Spidrags :( Mr jumpy hoovered as many up as possible (apologies to spider lovers but I really don't like them) but I keep finding the mites dangling off cupboards. Sigh. Least we solved the earwig problem last summer, none have managed to breach the defences yet this year.

Nowt wrong with spiders (except poisonous ones of course)..always makes me smile that people are scared of them...they are sooooo small and I really don't like bluebottles so spiders are good.

  • Comment number 81.

you sound like a spreadsheet dear!

We've got an easyish weekend at last! The most taxing thing for Saturday is a visit to the nail bar, then a night in with a good, honest home-made curry. I really can't remember our last Saturday night in. Looking forward to it no end!

Sunday is the sis-in-laws akchewal 40th. She of the spa day last week. Garden party in afternoon with the family and their friends - the same set of yummy mummies with oddly named children, 'cept the daddies will be there this time. Praise the lord!

  • Comment number 83.

I think the bluebottles would be feasting on these little things rather than the other way round... Not scared of the little ones, just the big 'uns that pretend to be shadows then make me jump when they scuttle away. Or the ones that pretend to be funnel spiders and create very interesting webs.

Mr jumpy used to have a friendly spider that watched saturday morning TV with him and his sister...

That's the thing about irrational fears, they are very irrational.

Ah well, wellies it is... better try and clean them up! Oooh last summer's high fashion might be making a comeback - wellies and short and sexy summer dresses :)

An email that was sent to me today......

I thought I would share - some of them made me laugh................

    Tommy Cooper Jokes

Two Aerials meet on a roof - fall in love - get married

The ceremony was rubbish but the Reception was Brilliant.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Man goes to the docs, with a strawberry growing out of his head.

Doc says, 'I'll give you some cream to put on it.'

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

'Doc, I can't stop singing the green green grass of home.'

'That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome.'

    'Is it common?'

    'It's not unusual.'

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet.

'My dog's cross-eyed, is there anything you can do for him?'

'Well,' says the vet, 'let's have a look at him'

So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth.

Finally, he says, 'I'm going to have to put him down.'

    'What? Because he's cross-eyed? '

    'No, because he's really heavy'

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    'Doctor, I can't pronounce my F's, T's and H's.'

'Well you can't say fairer than that then'

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Two elephants walk off a cliff...... boom boom!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
So I went to the dentist.

    He said 'Say Aaah.'

    I said 'Why?'

    He said 'My dog's died.'
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

So I got home, and the phone was ringing. I picked it up, and said
    'Who's speaking please?'

And a voice said 'You are.'
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

So I rang up my local swimming baths.
I said 'Is that the local swimming baths?'

He said 'It depends where you're calling from.'
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
So I rang up a local building firm,
I said 'I want a skip outside my house.'

He said 'I'm not stopping you.'
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. And there are 5
people in my family, so it must be one of them.

It's either my mum or my dad.
    Or my older brother Colin.
    Or my younger brother Ho-Cha-Chu.

    But I think it's Colin.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

So I was in my car, and I was driving along, and my boss rang up, and he
    said 'You've been promoted.'

    And I swerved.

And then he rang up a second time and said 'You've been promoted again.'

    And I swerved again.

He rang up a third time and said 'You're managing director.'

And I went into a tree.

And a policeman came up and said

    'What happened to you?'
And I said 'I careered off the road.'

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, most dentists' chairs go up and down, don't they?
The one I was in went back and forwards.

    I thought 'This is unusual'.
And the dentist said to me
'Mr. Cooper, get out of the filing cabinet.'

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
So I was getting into my car, and this bloke says to me 'Can you give
    me a lift?'

I said 'Sure, you look great, the world's your oyster, go for it.'
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Two cannibals eating a clown. One says to the other

'Does this taste funny to you?'

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, and
    the other was eating fireworks.

They charged one and let the other one off.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today.
They left a little note on the windscreen; it said 'Parking Fine.'

    So that was nice.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

A man walked into the doctors,
The doctor said 'I haven't seen you in a long time'
The man replied, 'I know I've been ill'

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

A man walked into the doctors,
he said 'I've hurt my arm in several places'

The doctor said, 'well don't go to those places'

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a ploughman's lunch the other day.
    He wasn't very happy.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day but I
    couldn't find any.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought some HP sauce the other day.
It's costing me 6p a month for the next 2 years.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Two blondes walk into a building..........you'd think at least one
of them would have seen it.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    Phone answering machine message -

'...If you want to buy marijuana.............press the hash key...'

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

I went to the butchers the other day and I bet him 50 quid that he
couldn't reach the meat off the top shelf.

He said, 'No, the steaks are too high.'

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

My friend drowned in a bowl of muesli.

A strong currant pulled him in.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

A man came round in hospital after a serious accident.

He shouted, 'Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!'

The doctor replied, 'I know you can't, I've cut your arms off'.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I went to a seafood disco last week...and pulled a mussel.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly.

They lit a fire in the craft, it sank, proving once and for all
that you can't have your kayak and heat it.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Our ice cream man was found lying on the floor of his van covered
    with hundreds and thousands.

Police say that he topped himself.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Two fat blokes in a pub, one says to the other 'Your round.'

The other one says 'So are you, you fat slob!'

I love my wellies - they're pink and silver. I got them for V Festival last year and they went very well indeedy with black shorts and a black vesty top thing. They also brighten up the allotment, as black or green tend to be the wellie of choice over there!

Spiders: extreme phobia. Had a very brief spell of living on my own between fellas and had to ring my best friend as there was a massive monster on the curtains one night. Bless her - she drove about 5 miles across town to rescue me and liberate "it".

    What a mate!

    Morning all.

CTD, totally with you on the wellies. Everyone should have wellies. I have 3 pairs. One pair in the car for allotment visits. One pair by door for dog walking duties. One pair in cupboard for emergencies (and cos I can't resist nice wellies!).

Jumpingbean - hello!! Wondered where you'd got to the last few days!!

    Trigger, your post was funny!

You can't have your kayak and heat it :)

That's been one of my fave jokes for a long time!

Think I've got a mate who would like to be the reincarnation of Tommy Cooper...

Cheryl, what a top mate. Bless her!! Loving the pink and silver, they sound brill! Mine are (were) white with black flowers doodled on them. White is not a sensible colour for wellies, if anyone is thinking of buying some. They look great until you wear them in the mud. Then the mud never ever ever comes off.... Just given them a scrub to get the worst off, but they will never be white white again unless someone can recommend a good welly-cleaner. Ho hum.

Tinsel - three pairs!!! Now that's the way to do it :) I would have a pair for show (they would be the white ones, if they were clean), a red shiny pair because everybody should have a pair of red shiny paddington bear wellies, and a pair for tromping in the hills :)

I love coloured boots. Today I am wearing my pink cowboy boots, no less. Very comfy and very pink.

At home I have 2 pairs of DMs - one pair is purple with black footprints over it, the other bright red patent leather. Wicked!

Used to wear the coloured DMs at the landfill job instead of the recommended safety "rigger" boots: brown hun - so not me!!!

Need a rant. Will start new blog entry below.

    Soz for interrupting Bingo ....
