ALL DRESSED UP AND OH OH.

Chris Evans | 14:58 UK time, Thursday, 9 August 2007

I've never had one before and I hope I never have one again, any idea what it is yet ?

...A stag do !

Tonight's the night.

I am washed and dressed, I smell ok and the wedding diet is working but it's all going to be ruined in about three and a half hours from now when I meet up with the "chaps."

None of this was my idea but a couple of decent pals said they thought I ought to go for it this time.

What form is this memorable event going to take ?

A slap up dinner in a damn fine restaurant that's how. What will go on after that I have no idea, all I do know is that I'm ready to go.

Off to read your posts now and drink lots and lots of water in anticipation.

CLP 2007.

P.S. The answer to VAN VAN VAN was rubbish.... forefront ! Huh.

Well laddie, this is it. The last night of being one of the boys. I suggest you make the most of it because, when you wake up tomorrow morning with a HUMUNGOUS hagover, you will realise just how much you need the little lady in your life to save you from yourself. :-D

The quality of your stag bash will depend on the quality of yer mates. The good ones will know what will float yer boat, the bad ones will do what would float their boat. I hope, therefore, that you have plenty of the former and very few of the latter.

Have a great time and enjoy. Your chums are doing this for you because you are special to them.

And ain't it nice to feel special. :-)

    Keep purring on down dude.

The BEER FESTIVAL would have been safer. Seriously. You are NUTS. Totally NUTS.

As I just said a wee while ago on the other page- i'm happy now cause my boy came home last night from the Jamboree. My daughter is ecstatic. She missed her brother! 40,000 kids - all enjoying themselves with no drugs or drink - they'd have got sent home in disgrace! What a ball he has had and so many new friends from all over the world.

Check my link to see his wee sisters' happy smiling face at his return!

And Christof!!!! NUTTTTSSSSS!!!! You don't know what you've done!

Happy Welding Day.... (not a typo, you are being welded... together)..... have fun.

Have an absolutely fantastic time at your stag night! This is a must, I'm afraid! But it doesn't have to be too crazy. Hopefully you won't end up tied to a lampost: oo-er!

I know this ridiculous, because I don't know you, but this marriage seems to be "the one". I really think you have found what you have been looking for and I can foresee you blogging in the future saying "well, I've been married for 25 years and it's still wonderful"!

Lots of love to you Chris!

    Dear CLP

Have a great one. But please remember you have to recover in time for the big day - be careful.

My husband had two stag do's before our wedding: one organised by his mates that involved a kissogram/stripper which they videoed and presented me with the evidence for posterity!

The second one involved friends and family including my father who was supposed to look after the best man (who likes a drink or three) but there my father failed as the best man fell face first onto the floor at the end of the evening and bruised his face which looked great in the wedding photos.

But 16 years later I wouldn't change a thing. Good luck to you and the future Mrs E may all your troubles be little ones, all your successes shared joys and may life bring you both health and happiness.

Enjoy your stag night - and good for you for having your "staggy" right atop the wedding: too many brides and grooms now have their do's 3 or 4 weeks in advance - what's THAT about??

I truly wish you both every future happiness and trust that at last, you have found 'the one', your soulmate, your partner for life.

Will toast you both on Saturday whilst do-se-doing at the company ho-down!

So Chris a Stag due! Some one takes some photos! And on thirsty thursday!

So I am now a year older! I am feeling a bit worse for wear today. Oh blimey what a night! Well I arrived and the only person there was one of the blokes who I've been flirting with, so he bought me a drink (it started so well with a cranberry juice!) but he was with some people. 30 minutes later a couple of friends turned up and my cousin harriet. The dishy bloke left! Apparently he is seeing someone! Anyway an hour after that my 2 other cousins and one of their boyfriends turned up. Then my 2 friends left! So my cousins and steve all went to Orgasmic for a Pizza. I had already had 2 spritzers at Bedfords.

So we go and have a pizza and.....and a bellini and 2 raspberry vodka martini's!!!!! Oh my gosh there were lovely! So as we are all light weights we all felt drunk and so went home to my cousins where my mum was babysitting. Lauren (cousin 3) had to help me walk to the taxi, m.e and booze dont mix!

But this morning I really got a bit angry at my friends who couldn't be bothered to let me know if they were gonna turn up! I invited about 25 people!HOW RUDE!!!!! And the thing that really got to me was I didnt invite another bloke I've been flirting with because I thought so many people who he wouldn't know would be there that I wouldn't get a chance to talk to him! How wrong was I!

But hey thats birthdays isnt it!!! Hope you are all lovely, now off to acupuncture maybe there is a point to cure hangovers! xx

    Morning everyone!

Congratulations CHris on the big W (not woolworths BTW!)

Please excuse this quote but it's one that a friend of my Folks' recited the night before our wedding

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.
    - Captain Corelli's Mandolin

As for 1st dances, I wanted something upbeat like The Wannadies You & Me song but Mr Jo wanted something slower so we ended up with 'Something' by The Beatles.

Some friends of ours had I do I do I do by Abba and choreographed a routine and everything, it was fun!

Oh I just LOVE weddings, a colleague of mine is getting married ,.... TODAY! how exciting...

MfR #52 - yes, I agree, Thank You is the most perfect love song. I cry buckets of tears every time I hear it!

Jo #54 - the quote is fabulous, and absolutely spot on. Being "in love" is wonderful but actually feeling that you love someone so much that you just want them to be happy in life, is so much better!

I'm lovin' all the love on this blog!

    Good afternoon friends,

No bonging after today my friends......no, this is nothing to do with pre-match abstinence, this is to do with Big Ben having some maintenance for a month which means that it will be bong-less for that time.

Ooh, talking of meteors, we are going to have a right shower of them on sunday evening. All you need to do is look east.....apparently, we will only need to look for a few minutes to see quite a few.

ps Gingembre - thanks for your optimism, we are generally of the same disposition here but a big task lies ahead.....I would put good money on Spurs making the top four this season....good luck tomorrow, methinks it will be a mid-field battle.......game won and lost there etc....silly cliche really, as it's so often the case in mid-field. Then again, I guess that's the thing about cliches - they are usuallly true : )

    Hi Chris and Hi Bloggers
    Can't contain my excitement!!
FINALLY get to blog (had to wait for a new computer cos I didn't want to risk blogging from work!!)

Just wanted to wish you the Very Best of Luck for yours and Natashas wedding. Getting married to Gorgeous Graeme in 5 weeks. (Can't wait) He's having his Stag this weekend and unbeknown to him, it will also include a damn fine restaurant and lots of champagne.

Have to agree, the quality of the event depends on the quality of the friends. Had my official hen night a few weeks ago with only my 2 beautiful bridesmaids in the Four Seasons in Dublin....I guess that says it all!!

Definitely a time to make lots of memories and really appreciate what you mean to people. Ive been overwhelmed.

Hope you had a great and memorable night and I hope everything goes well on the big day. Can't wait to see the pics!!

Lots of love and Best wishes to you both

Gaby, have just had a thought! Have you packed your green eyeshadow? It will look LOVELY with the bridesmaid dress! Either way, I think it's time you got it out again...Irish Curry time I feel!

Everyone else, see you at LGW this evening. i shall be carrying a flag and wearing a pink carnation. You should be able to spot me, just as long as I haven't been arrested for only wearing a pink carnation.

I used to love listening to you on the radio and have felt in past years a little...... let down with the attempts of others so have generally turned to CD or the occsaional good Dj to brighten my day.

JUST IMAGINE my surprise when I surf the net and find out, YOU yes YOU are not only on the radio but have been for ages when I have had to endure such pain on my usually boring drive home from 5.15 - 6!

    AGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

You have made my day without even knowing it so thank you and I hope that your stag night is an absolute blast, Ill be tuning in Monday without fail.

    Chris,

One meaning of van is fore, another meaning is front so
    van = fore
    van = front
Change the first two vans in the clue to fore and front and the third van clues the answer which is the combination of the first two meanings and a third meaning of van so fore (van) + front (van)= forefront (van)
Didn't get it until I looked for the answer on here though!
