So tonight it's the big night in the radio world. The...
...Sony awards. The Baftas of radio. Very important.
I never used to think so but that was when i was a complete c@£k.
They are important for both the individual and the stations those individuals represent. I shall not be scoffing this evening, oh no, well apart from the food that is.
I have won a couple or three of these babies in the past and am forunate enough to be nominated again tonight along with my team of course. i honestly don't think we'll win and i really don't mind if we don't but of course it will be great if we do. Have I prepared a speech ? Honestly ? Yes I have, I've seen too many people try to wing it and end up saying anything but what they meant to say to leave it to chance. Some classically bad moments
My weekend was fuller than an egg and this week has shot off to a sprint already. Just had a meeting with Mr. Oz Clark about the forthcoming C.I.N. weekend this weekend. he's choosing the wines and then coming along to talk about them, a fine fine fine wine man.
Johnny Saunders is my next appointment, we're meeting up to discuss his quiz questions for JOHNNY'S BIG QUIZ, one of the highlights of this weekend. it's going to be brill.,
Sam Allerdyce rocks and should have been treated better.... Man U., incredible, Rooney seems to have stepped it up a gear and the first spinach from the alllotment saw the frying pan this weekend,

Well I too had a jam packed weekend! I went to London from yorkshire to see two of my best friends!
HoweverI missed my train by two little minutes and had to pay £75 for another ticket which I did with tears in my eyes!
Once in London we went straight to a bar in Islington and talked continously over a few bottles of wine! Saturday was spent at Borough Market and a trad pub then to marcus pierre whites restaurant and a cuban club. Unfortunately my mobile did get stolen but just a tiny blot on a great weekend!
Finished with a train ride and an excellent book (when the crocodile eats the sun!)
Today however I am simply craving my bed and counting down the hours untill we are reunited!

Wish my life was filled with such pleasant things to do. Teach GCSE Health and Social Care and Child Development and at this time of year I have no time to do anything but mark coursework. 16 down 60 to go.
Will listen tothe prog on my way home as usual time to unwind after dealing with stroppy teenagers all day

Great weekend, shame it was rainy and cool yesterday for me...but the week looks like a corker and a bank holiday is coming to round it all off.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It was lovely and sunny here but not to hot so managed a much needed trip to Southwold!
I'm not sure if anyone feels like this so please let me know. I got some weird news last week, not bad or anything but surprising is the best way to describe it and since then i've been in a weird mood and just wanted to get away from Norwich, or even england for a bit.
Whenever I'm upset, stressed or angry I want to be in Paris. Why Paris I don't know. But I always just want to escape there and walk round seeing the sights, drinking in cafes, just walking about Paris!
Does anybody have a place they would go to escape?
Something to think about.
Anyway Christophe good luck tonight, it sounds like its going to be a great night anyway but a fantastic night if you win. I will have my fingers crossed. Have a glass of champagne for me.
Will be listening later today but now off to finish the book i'm reading so I can start this book I got the other day. The Celestine Phrophercy. Anyone read it?

missy - I also live in Norwich and despite the beautiful surroundings I have 2 places I love to escape to when all seems weird... the first is Meribel in the French Alps, the most beautiful place I've been for clean air, great people and stunning scenery - also great ski-ing.
The 2nd is a fishing village on Gran Canaria called Puerto de Mogan, great food, wine and sunshine.
Having said that, when £'s tight I do find many places in Norfolk too.
Had a great weekend. Very busy, got a red face to boot!!!

I had another long, lonely weekend when my fiancees IM wouldn't work, so I didn't get to chat with her from Thursday night til lunchtime today. Being apart from the one you truly love is the worst feeling I have ever experienced.

The weekend was all about Curly and his 50th birthday party. A Beatles tribute band and soooooooo many people I've not seen for ages. I danced for hours and really didn't want to go to bed at 3.30am but the bar had shut and it was all winding down... was late for breakfast but the hotel let me have tea and choccie criossants so it was all ok in the end.

misssie - you were only just across the water from my special place - walberswick. for me its a place which somehow cleanses the soul. great pub and shop - nothing else except the beach and the chance to dangle a bit of bacon off one of the bridges to catch tiny tiny crabs , put them in a bucket and compare with the neighbours. its amazing how competitive it gets and how much fun it can be ! if you close your eyes you can imagine litle children doing it since the dawn of time.......magical.
we all need to escape sometimes........hope you found what you were looking for..

missy - I love this gorgeous city we live in, I honestly don't think there is anywhere nicer in the world, but when you walk round it you always bump into people you know and if you've got things to think about you probably want to be on your own. Why Paris, i can't say having never been there, but my place is Dunwich, on the Suffolk coast, its soooooooo peaceful. Come on though, tell us what this thing is, we're all dying to know!
My weekend was fab, and we have just had news of the little girl in Kenya we are going to sponsor so I'm really excited! Life feels good.

Good luck tonight, even though you know you're worth it. Creeping over, weekend fuller than an egg eh!, what's that about. Just put egg custard in the oven made with duck eggs from next doors daffies. Sheep around here mainly eat grass and the occassional sugar beet or swede in the winter, and I've actually seem them.
Preparation is everything - speech at the ready!

Blickling Park is a lovely place to go, the kiddies can run and run until they're on empty, then they all doze on the beautiful drive home through the glorious Norfolk countryside.
Daughter was 10 at the weekend, how old do I feel now??? Had a lovely Sunday with her and the family yesterday. Do hate taking her back home to her mum though when it's all over.
Spent all day painting and assembling stuff for the mother-in-law!!! What a super son-in-law am I (or just a creep??)
Both babies are tucked up in bed, MrsW bathing and I have the lounge all to myself - now where's that bottle opener?

Ok the reason! A couple of weeks ago I saw a guy who I really liked but who never liked me. anyway i haven't seen him for about 4 years and when i saw him he said 'god alex you look amazing". we had a great chat and it was nice. Then last week i find out he is engaged! why couldn't he tell me this when he saw me? i know he was probably stunned by me beauty (i am joking here!) but why WHY?
And then i've worked it out 4 men i liked or have dated are all engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!
