    Hello Chris.

I’m just getting in touch because I absolutely love reading your blogs each day. They are a wonderful insight into a hugely inspirational and talented national institution!

I am 19 years old and a freelance journalist / radio DJ from Ireland. I left school three years ago to work for my local newspaper and never looked back, winning the Daily Mirror young reporter of the year award last year and working for a number of national titles. I still work for various national and regional publications and I’ve now got myself a radio show here in Ireland. It’s the mid morning show and has live music, showbiz interviews, entertainment plus parodies and pranks, etc. I really love it and desperately want to keep moving on up.

I’m hugely interested in the how you have achieved so many amazing goals during your tremendous career as you go from strength to strength doing what you love.
You are a gifted broadcaster that I aspire to be and listening to you and reading about you has motivated me to keep following my dreams. – No matter what obstacles try to block my way.

I’d love to interview you on my show sometime if you wouldn’t mind. It would also be wonderful to hear some tips from a true radio master!

All the best and have a great day.

    Hello Mr. Evans,

Lovely to hear the goings on in your contented little life. I listen to your show in short sharp bursts when I am out and about in my bashed up wee car (its not old, its just that I keep bashing it).

I feel these short sharp bursts are far healthier than the obsession I had about 9 years ago when I used to set my alarm for 6.30am every morning just so I could hang on to your every, often hungover, word! I was a student at the time and rarely had to be up before 10am - that's devotion for you!

I was quite intrigued by this blog thing so thought I'd have a look and ended up feeling compelled to contribute.

If anyone is interested I was working in London yesterday and today, went out and got drunk last night, my hangover was only saved by a club sandwich and chips on room service at 10.30pm. Had a meeting at 9am this morning, went well, am now killing a bit of time until I have to get my flight back to Scotland where, when I arrive, I met go to the gym to burn of the club sandwich and chips that I am now feeling guilty about.

Take lots of care of youself.

    Claire

Hmmm - dreams eh? If you're remembering that much detail, it must mean you're not sleeping properly - I'm no scientist, but did ask a Dr of psychology I know and you're only dreaming is the closest look in to your subconscious thought - it you can recall them in that much detail you're REM cycle must be being disturbed! Hmm - any noisy neighbours near you Chris!?

Hi Chris. Haven't seen you for a long time. You still sound the same but I was wondering if you were losing your hair yet?
I know this is not a place for requesting records but as no one ever plays it for me, how about you playing the "Angel on a Harley" track, from Roger Waters, Pros and Cons album or even, Yes, Circus of Heaven. Fantastic tracks that just don't go out on air anytime anywhere. Keep up the good program, JW is missed but you fill the air time with your own brand of stupidity and giggling wit and we all enjoy it.
    Cheers

    Hi Chris,

Do you have any time to sleep between those dreams? I love recalling dreams - I think they make sleep interesting!

Agree, too, about Coehlo - The Alchemist was inspired - the rest just a little too predictable.

Love the show, the music and the team banter - particularly Fox the Fox's new jingle! Your show makes my journey home fun and I'm energised for the evening. And you're getting me buying records which I guess is a sign of a great DJ - which, of course, you are. You make it sound all so easy and natural ....

Love the guests you get on the show too ... you cover stuff that really matters to people.

    Go dude!

I had Oysters, for the second time, and then the third last week in Cancale in Brittany, and they were superb! Tres Bon!
Fresh, not at all rubbery, superb.

Love the Fox the Fox jingle but never get to listen to the finale, maybe need to work late so I can ;).

Can't wait until 'the veg man's' back on.

Great to hear somebody who loves their job......

    Hi Chris,

What a lovely blog! I am up to my eyes in work and am supposed to be working late from home (those websites wont design themselves you know!) but driving home and listening to you has compelled me to look up your blog. And reading your blog has compelled me to write in it!

Books ROCK! and if you havent already read this one, may I be so bold and introduce you to '
A Life Stripped Bare' by Leo Hickman. We (wonderful other half, and the 2 lovely albeit cheeky girls 7 and 10) were camping at Polzeath, Cornwall last week and I bought Leos book at The Eden Project. Its all about him trying to live 'ethically' or as best he can for a year. It makes very interesting reading, and although I'm no eco-warrior, lots of it hit home and has compelled me to think about 'food miles' and the like.

I do have corguettes bursting out of two HUGE plants in the garden though... no food miles there (but far far too much ratatouille!)

Anyway... I am rambling, sorry. I know I should get back to work. Condor Ferries need their new website.

Keep up the good work, and MORE OF THE VEG GUY!!
