Two Good Vibration records tonight as a nod towardsÌýTerri HooleyÌýwhose movie biopic comes closer to reality, while in realityÌýhis shop bites the dust. Rudi's Ripped In Two is a great record that deserved greater things. The Moondogs first single was only a sign that greater things were to come from them.ÌýAlso a Blondie record that isÌýa million times better than the records that Debbie Harry chose for her Desert Island Discs. Calvin Harris ? Debbie....come on. Ìý

Thanks to Paul Moore for last week's punk collection. This weekÌý I stand corrected over the b side of the A&M single of Ìý'God Save The Queen' and try and heal that wound by playing 'No Feelings' which is different from the one which appeared onÌýNMTB. Another alternative version offered this week, from the Jam. That's not to be confused with 'From The Jam' which was the name of a Weller-less version of the band who appeared a few years back. The longer version of Monday is worth one listen, but it's an illustration of the value of keeping it short. Anything else......yes. The Velvet Monkeys are great. Stay awake to the end of the show and you'll find that out.

Buzzcocks - I Don’t Mind
Sex Pistols - No Feelings
Chesterfields - Shame About The Rain
Lilettes - Air Conditioning
Jam - Monday
Ramones - ÌýThe KKK Took My Baby Away
Splodgenessabounds - Cowpunk Medium
Modern Lovers - Abdul & Cleopatra
Breakaways Ìý- Workin’ Too Hard
Pop Rivits - To Start, To Hesitate To Stop
Richard Hell - The Plan
Count Five - Double Decker Bus
Randoms - A-B-C-D
Velvet Monkeys - Everything Is Right
Restless - Somebody Told Me

The Sex Pistols 'God Save The Queen' on the A&M label is reckoned to be the most valuable 45 rpm single in existence. It is worth £8,000 if you can find one. I can't so I'll play the b-side instead.
I was trying to remember how much the Sex Pistols received when they signed for A&M and I can't find the figure, otherwise I would make some smart connection between what they were paid and how many GSTQ singles you could buy for that, so I'll go on. There's a great live recording of 'Beginning To See The Light' from the Velvets, recorded on a cassette player in Max's Kansas City in the summer of 1970. It wasn't a good time for the band, as Lou Reed was deciding to call it a day, so it was a bit of good luck that Brigid Polk was there with her recorder. The microphone was held by Jim Carroll. His arm must have been very sore, which is probably why you can hear him on the record talking about getting a Pernod.
Paul Moore is presenting the programme next week , by the way. It will still be punk rock, although the house rules about nothing post 1987 may be relaxed for one week only.
