Polybat backhand return

A backhand return in polybat is an offensive shot that is used to force errors and to set up attacking positions.

A shot is deemed to be successful if:

  • it travels over the opponent's table
  • it makes a return shot difficult
  • it manoeuvres them to a side of the court to allow a future attacking shot

A successful shot will need to:

  • have a good grip
  • have a good speed of return
  • be firm
  • be accurate and powerful
