Polybat serve

A polybat serve must be played from a stationary position and hit against at least one side of the table before being returned.

A shot is deemed to be successful if:

  • the ball hits one side of the table and either travels over the opponent's side of the table
  • the ball makes a return shot difficult

A successful shot will need to:

  • have a good grip
  • be firm
  • be accurate
  • follow the rules of service
