This verb can be used to discuss anything you – or someone else – would like, eg where you would like to go on holiday, what you would like to do over the weekend, what you would like to see in your area, what you would like to do in the future. The key words in these examples are would like.

If you wanted to talk about what someone else would like, you would need to change the Hoffwn i... to Hoffai John/e/o/hi... You may need to do this if you are responding to a reading passage, for example.
