Hunger in Scotland

Hunger is a problem in all countries. Even in comparatively wealthy countries such as Scotland there are people who struggle to access the food they need. A number of different causes for this have been found:

  • low income and insecure income
  • rising food prices
  • high costs of fuel and rent that leave less money for food
  • lack of access to shops selling affordable, healthy food
