Judas agrees to betray Jesus (Matthew 26: 14–16)

We are not told why he did it, but here we see Judas going to the chief priests to betray Jesus.

Judas said to them, “What will you give me if I betray Jesus to you?”

They promised him thirty silver coins. This was a small amount of money, the cost of a common slave.

From this moment on, Judas looked for an appropriate time to hand Jesus over to the chief priests.
