1949: Car air-ferry service to France
If you can afford a Jaguar or a Bentley, you can probably afford to take the inaugural car air-ferry service to Le Touquet, France. With somewhat better vistas, and a few hours saved over a ferry sailing, it's the quickest way of getting to the continent.
