±«Óătv Together - Privacy Notice
Your trust is very important to us. This means the ±«Óătv is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information. This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law.
±«Óătv Together is an experimental additional feature to your ±«Óătv Account which lets you watch ±«Óătv content as a group, with family or friends, at exactly the same time using a unique URL. Before sending the unique URL, you will need to ensure you that you have the agreement of the person receiving it. The service syncs the content so everyone in your group can laugh at the same joke, watch the same goal and so on.
You are also invited once you have used ±«Óătv Together, to complete the anonymous optional survey and provide feedback on your experience.
What we will collect and how we use it
The ±«Óătv will collect and process the personal information that you have provided to us about yourself as set out below.
Personal Data we collect from you
You must be 13 years or older to use ±«Óătv Together. If you use ±«Óătv Together the ±«Óătv will collect and process the following personal information:
- your IP address information to determine if the browser visiting the page is within the UK or the E.U,Â
- device type used to visit the website, (for example; mobile, desktop or tablet).Â
- your geolocation (City)
- your Browser ID
- Hashed ID, where personalisation is enabled in your ±«Óătv Account for analytics purposes only
- your ±«Óătv account information -  We check to make sure you’ve signed in and if  you have switched on the parental lock on your ±«Óătv Account.Â
Additional data collected:
- analytics data - we do collect analytics data to measure how ±«Óătv services are being used, accessed and to improve our services to you
- how many devices are connected per sessionÂ
- how long the session lastedÂ
- the content played in the session
±«Óătv Together is an experimental prototype. Programmes you watch on ±«Óătv Together won’t appear in your watch history and nor will they influence any recommendations made to you by the ±«Óătv (should you have personalisation enabled in your ±«Óătv Account).
Who is the Data Controller?
The ±«Óătv is a “data controller” of your personal information. This means that the ±«Óătv decides how it will use and collect your personal information and what it will use your personal information for. The ±«Óătv will be using and collecting your personal information solely for the purposes set out in this privacy notice and the ±«Óătv is responsible for complying and demonstrating its compliance with data protection law.
Lawful basis for processing your personal information
The legal basis on which the ±«Óătv processes your personal information is the ±«Óătv’s legitimate interest to make available ±«Óătv content and services to our audiences. We have balanced our interests in processing your data against any impact on your individual rights and freedoms and found that such interest does not override our interests.
Retaining your information
The ±«Óătv will collect, retain and process your personal data as outlined in ±«Óătv data retention policies and ±«Óătv privacy policy.
All data processed as part of using ±«Óătv Together is processed within the EEA.
Your rights and more information
under data protection law, and you can request a copy of the data ±«Óătv stores about you, which includes your ±«Óătv Account data and data described above.
You have the right to ask for the data we collect about you, to be deleted, however, there are exceptions to your rights and they may be limited in some situations and for example, we may refuse this request.
