  1. goal

GOAL: Derby 0-1 Blackburnpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 26 September 2020

    Tyrhys Dolan (11 mins)

Totally against the run of play, Blackburn edge ahead against Derby!

Rovers work upfield thanks to Ben Brereton who thumps his shot off the post and Tyrhys Dolan taps in on the rebound.

    Barnsley 0-0 Coventry

Decent start in this, both teams are going go for it early doors.

Luke Thomas forced a save from Coventry keeper Marko Marosi after a well worked free-kick and he's just had another pop on goal but he's fired it just wide.

    Derby 0-0 Blackburn

How are Derby not a goal up?!

Derby's Max Bird works onto the ball and shoots from inside the area and surely it should go in but no!

Darragh Lenihan puts in a stunning block to clear the ball off the line.

    QPR 0-0 Middlesbrough

Bit of a stoppage after injury to Rangers winger Ilias Chair, thankfully the Morocco international is up and about after treatment.

He's certainly back up on his feet, having snapped a shot at goal that Boro's Marcus Bettinelli does well to hold.

Two goals from new signings to inform you about in the third tier, with Gillingham not taking long to get off the mark thanks to Dominic Samuel's fourth-minute header against Blackpool.

Meanwhile, Jordan Stevens has sent Swindon Town ahead against Burton Albion at the County Ground.

    League Two latest

Plenty of off-field issues for Southend down at the bottom end of League Two but they're in front early on against Morecambe.

Shrimps defender Liam Gibson has been credited with it, though I doubt he'll be too chuffed about it having put through his own net after a scramble. Only joined the club four days ago.

    Derby 0-0 Blackburn

There's a break in play at Pride Park. Blackburn midfielder Bradley Johnson receives some treatment following a collision to get to the ball but the ex-Rams man is cleared to continue.

Soon after, Jason Knight sees his strike at goal blocked by the visitors.

  8. goal

The perfect start for the Lions.

Nice stuff from Mason Bennett down the left and he swings in a lovely cross and Jed Wallace heads it in.

Just before this Brentford were forced into an early substitution with Rico Henry coming off for Dominic Thompson.

    QPR v Middlesbrough (15:00 BST)

Middlesbrough warm upImage source, Rex Features

Kevin Blackwell will take charge of Middlesbrough again today, after Boro boss Neil Warnock tested positive for coronavirus last week.

Blackwell says Warnock has been "getting on well" and returned to work yesterday, but has not travelled to QPR today.

QPR beat Nottingham Forest on the opening day but then lost at Coventry in their last league fixture.

One positive for QPR has been the goalscoring start made by summer signing Lyndon Dykes, who has twice netted from the spot for Rangers.

    Preston v Stoke (15:00 BST)

Stoke have made it through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, but they've managed only one point from their first two league games.

Similarly, Preston have drawn one and lost one of their opening two league fixtures but their League Cup run ended in midweek at the hands of Brighton.

Last season's defeat at Preston was one of the most miserable nights of a miserable season for the Potters - they'll hope to avoid a similar fate at Deepdale today.

    Millwall v Brentford (15:00 BST)

Brentford won their first game at their new stadium last weekend, scoring three second-half goals to beat Huddersfield.

Today they've travelled across the capital to face Millwall.

Gary Rowett's side have taken four points from their first two matches and are yet to concede a league goal this term - will the usually free-scoring Bees be able to find a way past them at The Den?

  14. Postpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 26 September 2020

    Derby v Blackburn (15:00 BST)

Played two, lost two - not the start Derby will have wanted in the Championship.

Former Liverpool youngsters Jordan Ibe and Bobby Duncan have both linked up with the Rams this week, in the hope they'll add more firepower in attacking areas.

Blackburn don't appear to need any help on that front. They've found the net seven times in their first two league games, making them the division's leading scorers at this early stage of the campaign.

There's something very pleasing about the sight of a pristine new-season pitch beneath early-autumn sunshine as there is at Cardiff City Stadium this afternoon.

Cardiff manager Neil Harris makes two changes from last Saturday’s 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest, as left-back Greg Cunningham replaces the injured Joe Bennett and midfielder Will Vaulks comes in for Joe Ralls.

Reading boss Veljko Paunovic makes one change from last weekend’s 2-0 triumph over Barnsley, with Yakou Meite replacing John Swift.

    Cardiff v Reading (15:00 BST)

League tables don't mean anything after two games (and you'll do well to convince me otherwise) but Reading fans will like the look of the top of the Championship, nonetheless.

New Royals boss Veljko Paunovic has started with two league wins and will hope to make it three against Cardiff.

Last season's play-off semi-finalists lost to Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day but Kieffer Moore scored both goals as they saw off an out-of-form Nottingham Forest this time last week.

    Birmingham v Rotherham (15:00 BST)

The early signs are that Aitor Karanka may be the manager to bring the stability Birmingham City have craved for several years.

Blues have four points from two games and are yet to concede a goal, and their batch of astute signings was added to earlier this week with the arrival of experienced former Spain international Mikel San Jose.

Rotherham, promoted last season, have made a solid start on their return to the second tier, with an opening-day win at Wycombe followed by a narrow home loss to Millwall last weekend.

    Barnsley v Coventry (15:00 BST)

Coventry made the worst possible start to life back in the Championship a couple of weekends ago, conceding in the first minute at Bristol City.

The Sky Blues were beaten 2-1 that day at Ashton Gate but responded with an impressive display in a 3-2 home win over QPR.

They're facing a Barnsley side yet to score a goal or gain a point in the Championship so far this season, and fresh from a midweek 6-0 thumping at Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

    League One preview

Only three teams - Ipswich, Lincoln and Hull - have six points from their first two games in League One.

Lincoln must wait until tomorrow to try to extend that record, while today Ipswich host Rochdale and Hull go to Northampton.

Two expected promotion heavyweights meet at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland play Peterborough, while Wigan will aim to get their first points of the campaign at Fratton Park against a Portsmouth team that has drawn their first two games 0-0.

    League Two preview

Two League Two games - Walsall v Leyton Orient and Cheltenham v Grimsby - were called off because of positive coronavirus tests involving the O's and the Mariners.

Stevenage's match at Bradford was also in doubt after Stevenage reported a player's positive test, but confirmation came this morning that the fixture will go ahead as planned.

Elsewhere, Newport County will hope to build on their Carabao Cup win over Watford when they face Bolton - who are still to register a league point this term.

And two of the early pacesetters, Port Vale and Harrogate, face each other in the Potteries.
