    For the past month we’ve been treated to big hits, canny bowling, slick fielding and pure entertainment.

    The first ever Hundred tournament is done and dusted. Here are Matt Henry's reports of both finals as the Oval Invincibles win the women’s title and Southern Brave are the men’s champions.

  3. 'Mahela said we'd win the tournament after opening two defeats'

    Southern Brave's Tymal Mills: "I'm really pleased. We had to do it a different way, with setting and then defending but Ross Whiteley and Paul Stirling did a great job with the bat, they gave us a target that we could defend. We were confident that we could win, Mahela [Jayawardene] said we'd win after we lost our first two games, and I don't think anyone believed him, but he was correct.

    "We've got a good group. You've got to give credit to the people for picking the team together two years ago - they did a brilliant job. we've got an experienced squad and it is just a case of them executing."

  4. Birmingham Phoenix's Liam Livingstone: "It's pretty hard to take. For me, that's definitely not the way you want to get out in a final.

    "But we got beaten by the better team in the end.

    "We can accept that, but we can be pleased with how we've played during the tournament and we've had a great time.

    "I don't know what it is that's making me play well but I'm just enjoying it. I've been travelling the world for the past few years and just keep working on my game, but I just hope it can continue!

    "I just try to keep things simple and swing as hard as I can!

    "But I've really enjoyed the tournament. We didn't know what to expect at the start but the fans have been brilliant and to see so many kids here, that's what we want."

  6. 'They were better in all three facets'

    Moeen Ali on ±«Óãtv Two: "We 100% believed we could do it, but we did think they had 15-20 too many. We didn't bowl that well at the end. Paul Stirling was outstanding, and we got the two big wickets early. In all three facets I thought they were better than us, but I'm really proud of the team. I thought Liam Livingstone was outstanding tonight. I was backing up, thinking he was going to smash one at me. I genuinely think he could become one of the best in the world.

    "We almost stumbled on a good team. The inexperience probably lost it for us in the end.

    "Imran Tahir showed a lot of fight, and he is a matchwinner, but at that age to keep going is amazing."

  8. Southern Brave captain James Vince: "Tim David's run out definitely wasn't a fluke, he's been working on it!

    "No, in all fairness it's probably the only way you can get Liam Livingstone out at the moment.

    "He is tough to stop at the minute, but we knew that we had runs on the board and we were just hoping for a chance at some point. He and Mo together are a daunting pair to bowl at.

    "The atmosphere has been amazing, it has been through the whole tournament. It's been fantastic to be a part of and to play in a final at Lord's on a Saturday night, it doesn't get that much better than that.

    "It's been a real team effort and different people have turned up on different occasions. It was Paul Stirling and Ross Whiteley tonight, to get us runs on the board that made the difference."

    Southern Brave needed a whole leadership pattern when Liam Livingstone has teeing off and they have that with Chris Jordan as the vice captain, and as the leader of the bowling attack.

    You have to give credit to Jordan, James Vince and Mahela Jayawardene. It was a complete team effort, and everyone who stepped in stood up throughout the tournament.

    It was a fantastic performance by Southern Brave. It was a fitting occasion for the final, with lesser restrictions and families out. It has been a privilege to be part of a fantastic spectacle and the game on the field did it justice.

    And Liam Livingstone ends the competition as The Hundred's Most Valuable Player.
