Ìý Minister for men 31 DecemberÌý2004 Ìý
Do we need one?

Ever since this government came into power in 1997 there has been a Minister for Women championing the rights and needs of our female population. So what of men's rights and needs?

Should there be a Minister in Parliament pushing for more paternity leave, more flexible working for men, male health issues like prostate cancer and the high rate of suicide amongst young men, and re-engaging boys in education.

Jon Snow talks to the Labour MP Joan Ruddock, the first full time Minister for Women, Charles Hendry, the Deputy Chair of the Conservative Party and Duncan Fisher, Director of Fathers Direct.
