Job Share MPs 9th March 2010
Houses of Parliament
Should MPs be allowed to job share?

That’s a proposal being put forward by one Liberal Democrat, who says it’s a good way to make Parliament more manageable for people with families, especially women. Two people would stand on one ticket and, as now, voters would decide if they were happy to return them to Westminster. They would each work three long days and split the work load. The idea is seen as one way to encourage more women to stand for Parliament. But would it work? JaneÌýis joined by the Vice Chair of the Liberal Democrat Campaign for Gender Balance, Dinti Batstone and by Angela Knight, who was the Conservative MP for Erewash from 1992-97 and is now Chief Executive of the British Bankers Association.
