Ìý Lavender Monday 28 July 2003 Ìý
If you have it in the garden, now's the time to start thinking about plucking some of the lavender flowers to put in little bags and then into the underwear drawer.

There aren't many domestic habits regularly practiced by my meticulous grandmother that I manage to continue, but that is one of them - it smells gorgeous but I would never have thought of cooking with it!
Anna McNamee met up with cookery writer Sybil Kapoor and Fred Foster, who runs Turnips, a fresh produce supplier at London's Borough Market to discover more about lavender, and put together a perfect summertime dish, with the scent of the Victorian boudoir about it.
Read the recipe for Lavender Nectarine and Raspberry Compote.
Turnips is at 43 Borough Market, London, SE1 9AH.
More recipes from Sybil Kapoor can be found in her book "Simply British" Penguin Books, ISBN: 0140273190
