The spinach-like leaf vegetable rich in vitamins and proteins

These days mizuna, mibuna, pak choi and Chinese leaf are all readily available in our shops and supermarkets, but they are al easily grown at home. Joy Larkom has been growing oriental vegetables for over twenty years, her gardens are famous, and her book 'Orinetal Vegetables' is a culinary classic.

In the first of a new series, chef and gardener Gerard Baker went to meet her in her garden in Ireland to find out how to grow and eat amaranth.

'Oriental Vegetables' by Joy Larkom is published byÌýFrances Lincoln, ISBN: 978-0-7112-2612-8.
