British MPs have voted on a series of alternative courses of action on Brexit, but none of the eight options commanded a majority. The one that came closest to success was a motion calling for a commitment to negotiate a permanent customs union with the EU. A second phase of the non-binding process is planned for Monday.

The aircraft manufacturer Boeing has issued changes to the anti-stall system implicated in the downing of two of its new 737 Max aircraft.
